the lamp may be faulty needs replacement, another culprit is the color wheel when worn out they tend to get stuck and cant spin hence the clicks as tries to spin needs replacement most color wheels come inbuilt in the light engine u will need a tech to replace it and u are good to go remeber the lamp cant turn on if the color wheel is stuck cos its the one that syncrinizes with dmd board which in turn activates the ballast board to fire or light the lamp
the code 803is for faulty exposure lamp or fault in composite power supply(the power supply to exposure lamp is not sufficiant to operate the lamp).to remove exposure lamp, remove copyboard glass, remove back cover ,slide scanner in the line of rear exahaust fan at the right side of scanner, remove rear exahaust fan, remove lamp holder(one screw).slide out lamp on the rear side replace new one and reverse the whole process.
I have a Agfa
DuoScan F40 Flatbed Scanner. It appears that the scanning function is not
working. Light is not turn on.Blank white paper as a result. I wonder
if we could somehow mod the scanner lamp since it is nearly impossible
for us to buy the scanner lamp nowdays, even Agfa support say so. The
function of this lamp is similiar to a torchlight. It will brighten the
document that we want to scan during the scanning proces. What if somehow
we manage to use other device other than the lamp it self like
superbright LED(20 watts) or another lamp scanner from dead scanner
macine.I think it will work.Anyone care to comment....
Hello my friend. If you open the scanners door under the document cover is one switch that locks and unlocks the scanner.Move it to the position that shows that is unlocked. If this doesnt work it means the scanner lamp is in the park
position and is stuck. You need to lean the printer away from the sheet
feed side and bump it on the side. This should fix it. If it doesn't turn
off the power and remove the two screws that hold the scanner lid on.
Then remove the other 6 screws located under the lid on the left side
while the lid is hanging from lid open sensor cable . After removing the base
screws you can set the lid on the scanner again while you lift the
scanner bed exposing the scan lamp mechanism. Push it a few inches in
the machine and close the lid. You can do a test by powering the unit on
and hold the lid open sensor button located on the bottom left of the
lid. The system should initialize and bring the scan lamp back to the
proper position. Turn off replace all screws and your done. If it
doesn't work the first time push the scanner lamp more into the
scanning area and repeat until works.
sure you lamp lights up when machine is powered on. open the top cover, turn power on. lamp should light and scanner should move. if either of these do not happen you will need to replace parts. if the lamp lights and the scanner moves your ccd could be bad. you may need a service tech. if the lamp does not light it is your problem. lamp, power supply, ballest, or main pcb could be the problem
YOU HAVE MENTIONED THAT SCANNER LAMP IS NOT GLOWING AND THE SCANNER IS WORKING PROPERLY;THE STEP THAT YOU HAVE TO TAKE ARE:
1.OPEN THE SCANNER AND SEE IF THE CARD IN SCANNING UNIT IS ALL RIGHT NOTHING IS BURNT.
2.IF EVERYTHING FINE IN THE LOGIC CARD OF SCANNING UNIT YOU CAN HAVE TO REPLACE THE LAMP .
SC101 indicates and exposure lamp problem. To try and correct, turn OFF the copier and then unplug from the wall. Wait 10 seconds and plug it back into the wall, then turn on the copier. Watch to see if the exposure lamp comes on - lift the document handler if you want. If the exposure lamp is working correctly, the scanner will briefly move to the right and the light will turn on then off after it moves to the left.
