Canon Pixma MX310: misfeeds

Canon Pixma MX310: paper begins to feed paper at an angle, then stops. I have cleaned the roller etc as advised in the manual, to no avail. I wonder if an objectmight be stuchk in the works, but don't want to dismantle, not knowing what I'm doing.

Thanks - you were right, a little rubber disc from a stack of CDs stuckin the paper path. I freed it from the front with a piece of thin stiff card.

Hi Paper misfeeds are normally caused by something obstructing the paper path. Look really carefully both above and below the path that the paper takes through the printer. The jammed paper itself can give you a clue about which side the obstruction is on, there wiil often be some sign, such as a bent corner on the page etc. Also check the sliding guides that keep the paper straight, they should be slid in until they are a snug fit with the paper, but not so tight that they stop it from feeding

As others have suggested, try turning printer off, unplug cord, gently flip the printer upside down and shake! Mine coughed out a shirt button and a pill, both of whcih were causing the paper mis-feed. Bingo!

Eureka! My old reliable MX310 printer stopped feeding paper a couple weeks ago and I decided it was time to buy a new one. As I was perusing new printer deals on Amazon, it struck me that I hadn't yet looked for answers to the problem on the omnipotent internet. I found this solution page, and, expecting failure, I flipped the printer upside down and shook. To my amazement, a small magnet (not part of the machine) fell out. Hurray! I not only don't have to buy a new printer, but the ink cartridges I impetuously bought in bulk for my Canon recently will not have to be thrown out!

CANON PIXMA IP2200 DOES NOT FEED PAPER

Paper not feeding into Canon Pixma MP210 printer

Several suggestions here include printing a heavy card instead of regular paper, or turning the printer upside down to remove any object like a key stuck in the printer.

I have a Canon Pixma iP1900, it will initially grab the paper but then the paper will just stop but the printer will continue while the paper doesn't move. Then when I cancel the printing it tells me that...

Hello -

From Support information I found on the Canon website, the paper feed rollers of your PIXMA iP1900 may need cleaning.

Source:
https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/content/faq/?itemid=tcm:14-609974

The feed roller cleaning function allows you to ckean the paper feed roller. perform feed roller cleantng when there are paper particles sticking to the paper feed roller and paper is not fed properly.
The procedure for cleaning the feed rollers is as follows:

1.Prepare the printer
Remove all sheets of paper from the rear tray.
2.Open the printer driver setup window
3.Click Roller Cleaning on the Maintenance tab
The confirmation message appears.
4.Execute paper feed roller cleaning
Make sure that the printer is on and click OK.
Paper feed roller cleaning starts.
5.Complete paper feed roller cleaning
After the rollers have stopped, follow the instruction in the message, load three sheets of plain paper into the rear tray, and click OK.
Paper will be ejected and feed roller cleaning will be completed.
+++

Best wishes.

Hi, My Canon MX310 all-in-one is only a couple of years old and lately broke down. The problem is it doesn't take the paper correctly. Shrink it at the start of printing and shows that there is not...

Hello,

My PIXMA 6000 has a paper tray on the bottom or else you can load the paper from above.

When the paper tray contains paper and is loaded it moves a switch that alerts the printer that there is paper available to the printer.

When loading paper from the feeder on the top of the printer there is a bar that kicks out from behind the paper that pushes the paper in to a roller on the other side. The roller grabs the paper and feeds it in to the printer. As the paper enters the printer a sensor detects it's presence.

Misfeed from the rear tray. The rear tray feed is not working. When it tries to feed it bends the right corner of the paper and then I get a misfeed message. I can't use the printer to print 4x6 photos...

there could be a teenie piece of paper stuck in the feed path causing this to happen, you have to visually inspect and ensure it is clear. Use plain paper to test.

rollers may also contribute to problems with feeding paper its good you tried that too.
lastly maybe the photo paper is too thick for that printer?

Code 6000 appears on screen and it says check printer

6000 is a paper feed issue, not the feed roller, but the platen roller. Could be something fell in the back and is stopping the platen roller from turning, ink or grease on the encoder disk at the end of the roller, or even a bad motor. Probably a repair best done in the shop.

Paper feeds crooked, then stops. I can't find the users manual. Do I need to clean the rollers?

you may need to replace the rollers. if its feeding crooked it sounds like one of the rollers isnt grabbing which means its either worn or possibly a tension setting.
