Simple. Press 161 on one phone set. After you hear the beeps, put the receiver down. You'll hear both phone sets ring. Now you can pick up your receiver and the person on the other floor can pick up the receiver there, and you can talk. There is no cost involved.

Hi. By default you cant use intercome on a single line phones.
Your options:
Check Viking electronics for a device that will allow you to use your phones like an intercome
Replace your phones with a 2 line or 4 line ATT phone from
Staples
Or buy a professional phone system such as AVAYA that has intercom feature built in. (1-866-980-ivds)

My uniden phone is not working. All hand sets say Check Tel Line. Will not make or receive calls. Will a dead battery in one handset make all handsets malfunction? Are batteries available?

batteries are available from e-bay
one dead battery will not affect any others
all hand sets make calls and receive calls through the base unit that is connected to the landline
base unit is connected to the landline and operates any hand set that is picked up
make sure all handsets have the end call button pressed as one not pressed after use may keep a line open
call your provider to check the land line to your premises
borrow a neighbours phone and plug it into the socket and see it you get a line on their phone

I want to get 2 phones,1to connect to landline, and 1 by my bed.

this can be overcome by either running a piggy back connection at the input point of the land line and running the extension wire to the other phone
or
by buying a cordless phone set ( 2 phones ) and placing the base set at the point where the existing phone is and the other cordless phone in the room
the base phone set connects to the land line and the second phone is by wireless transmission to that base set
all you will need is a power supply for the second phone as it has a charger as a stand for the phone

How to get rid of loud background hum when using phone

If your phone is a home landline the hum is probably due to a bad ground. You need to check Where the line comes in the house and ensure there is a good ground wire connected to the block.

Seimens Gigaset AL285 BSNL caller ID not working

The source of my caller ID not displaying was a faulty ADSL filter.
For some reason my ADSL filter blocked the caller id information - but worked fine otherwise.
When I changed the filter the caller ID worked fine again.

When i call my bsnl landline phone at home from any mobile phone i am hearing my voice again after 2 seconds..At home we are having parallel connection.

Hi lokeshpeddin,

The problem is with the telephone box in your building where probably the wires have got mixed up with each other ,

Please call up the telephone helpline number and then ask them to repair the problem , they would surely do it, it's a minor problem , nothing to worry about it.

Just for your information a parallel landline phone is not a reason for this echo ..

Hope this helps ...:)

I have the westell 7500. I have DSL with Verizon. The connection keeps dropping since day 1. which was about 5 weeks ago. The tech has been out about 6 times , replacing lines outside . rewired my house....

if you given parallel connection to phone means u have to use one filter for phone and dsl . in that filter 3 plagin will there 1-line in,2-phone,3-dsl or mdem. give connection to 1-direct wire comming for outside, 3- dsl modem, use 2- give parallel connection. if u not done this means when u pick the phone connection will get dropped. still go to this page http://www.rajasthan.bsnl.co.in/main/trsh.htm or call me 9740575949 moz-screenshot.png
