Question about Sony VAIO PCV-W600G PC Desktop
The 2GB the norton tech is referring to is RAM not the hard drive. The more RAM the more information that the laptop can load at one time.
As far as hard drive the capacity, it can be what you want depending on whether there are built in restrictions with the laptop motherboard.
I believe your Sony VAIO can support as big of a hard drive as you want.

1 upgrade your harddisc to higher Gb.
2. Format and install fresh operating system during which keep less number of partitions. Calculate and reserve the minimum space required for C-Drive to support instaling all your programs.
3. You can transfer the pagefiles (virtual memory) from C-Drive to D-Drive to save some space.
4. Use disc cleanup utility or ccleaner.
5. Usually any motherboard will support 2 RAMs So u can add an additional RAM to upgrade your RAM value.

I am not quite sure about the concern here .. To start with harddisk and RAM are two separate entities .. when you say C drive.. its your harddisk and when you say 2GB RAM.. its the actual RAM or Memory on your computer.
Now to make space on C drive all you need to do is un-install all the unnecessary softwares that might be occupying the space on harddrive .. delete the files that you no more require .. If you have movies or songs sitting on the C drive then move them to external storage or burn them to CD/DVDs .. Delete temporary internet files, cookies. Check "My Documents" and see what stuff you can delete and what can be moved to external media.
That should free up some space on C drive
Now if you want extra RAM then you will have to buy additional RAM cards and will have to insert them in the RAM slots .. Just check with the PC manufacturer on what kind of RAM is compatible and how much can your computer hold.
Hope that helps .. In case you still have additional queries then please feel free to write back and I would be glad to answer you :)
