I bought a used 660 on ebay, it seems to have some propriotory splash page and on display page there is no option to change splashpage. how do i get it back? also on whereto page there is no go home...

At the menu, press the wrench (settings), then the display icon. On the display menu, select "splashscreen" and you'll be able to change the boot-up screen if there are other images on the unit. You can add your own images by uploading them to the unit via a USB cable connected between the GPS and Nuvi.

You have to set a location as the HOME destination first. If you already entered your home address, press "WHERE TO", then "FAVORITES" and click on your home address. Select EDIT and you should see a prompt to set the address as your home address.

Nuvi 265WT Delete Phone Numbers

Garmin Nuvi 265WT Delete Phone Numbers

Models: Garmin Nuvi 200, 200W, 250, 250W, 260, 260W, 270
Models: Garmin Nuvi 205, 205W, 215, 215W, 255, 255W, 265, 265W, 265WT, 275

Would you like to erase the phonebook entries on your Garmin Nuvi 265WT, left over from when you bluetooth paired with your cell phone?

I can help you delete the phone numbers on your Garmin Nuvi 265WT.

The phone numbers transferred to your Nuvi are only supposed to be available when your phone is paired to your cell phone. Changing the entry on your phone should allow that entry to show up changed the next time it is paired with the Nuvi. Sometimes, a bluetooth mix up causes entries to be duplicated or entries' phone numbers to get repeated.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data (this hard reset will remove the phonebook info from your nuvi), and then updating your Nuvi' firmware to make sure the nuvi and cell phone bluetooth process runs as smoothly as possible in the future.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Nuvi 265WT running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin 265WT WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

Nuvi 660 + omnia

Hi, version 3.1 is supposed to help with disconnects. Please see this link:

However, Garmin released 3.4 which will include the changes in 3.1 and also makes the bluetooth compatible with more phones.

You need to go to and download their webupdater and run it with your Nuvi connected to the PC with a USB cable. It will check (via the Internet) if you need a firmware upgrade. The latest firmware version for a Nuvi 660 is v4.7. There is a second menu after the main firmware option that allows you to select additional software. Select yes and check the bluetooth 3.4 box and the Chipset "G" box if it's shown.. The Chipset "G" is the upgrade for the receiver in the flip-up antenna. Let it download. When finished, select to safely remove the Nuvi. You can now unplug the USB cable. Your Nuvi will reboot and load in the new changes. Whatever you do, don't turn your nuvi off! Let it go and update. You will see it say "Loader", then "Loading Software" and you'll see a task bar that says "Updating Bluetooth Software" and "Updating GPS Software" (if required). Once you get to the main menu and there are no more texts coming up on the screen. Press the power button and turn your unit off and then back on again. Check the GPS and Bluetooth firmware versions in your Nuvi. It should be 3.0 for the GPS and 3.4 for the Bluetooth. Check the firmware version if you selected v4.7. You will have to re-pair your phone with your Nuvi as the update erases any previous set-up. Let me know how it went for you. If you have trouble with this, let me know. I can do it for you. I have done it many times. Please rate my solution if you found it helpful.

Change Home Location on Nuvi 660

Go into 'Where To', 'Favorites', 'HOME', 'Edit...', 'Delete'. Then from the main map screen you can tap the screen and 'Save' the location as your new home. You can't save a 'Home' location if there's already one called that in memory, so you have to delete the old one first.

(I have a 680, but I assume it's the same)
