Later I found a piece of plastic laying on the bed it's got a + and a circle on one end and a + a circle and an arrow on the other what is it and does it go to the printer. when I tried to print something on the printer the check print cartidge light keep blinking and when the ink slides back and forth on the inside it hits the sides very hard. Re: Printer is beating itself up

Sounds like your daughter removed a switch or sensor from the printer.
The printhead has a sensor or switch usually all the way to the right where it has a reference point to know it is at the starting position, if not it will bang itself at that point and go into an error code.
Turn off machine open door move printhead to the left and look to see if that peice could go on something.
If you can't figure it out then cost of repair vs cost to replace will come in.

Good luck.

My printer will power itself down and then power back up for unknown reasons?

It could be that your printer is not getting enough power to turn itself on properly. Try to re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

If that doesn't help, try to insert your printer into a different known working power outlet in the wall. This will help us identify if it's a faulty power outlet issue.

I have a problem with our ricoh printer at work. It is a ricoh aficio AP410N, and the serial # is Q3256500416. It keeps getting paper jams and nothing will print. I called tech support a month ago and all...

Did you try to start with a new pack of paper? Laser printers are very sensitive to humidity of the paper, or a little curled paper. You can start to turn the paper that is in the engine right now upside down. Sometimes this will help. If this doesn't work, than take a closed, new box/package of paper and try again. You might have an environmental problem with your paper. If it works well with the new package, try to store the paper on a better place (not at a window/heater/in a closed box/package etc.)

Does the lexmark x2500 need a special type of ink?

If you go into the office supplies store, there's usually a guidebook for each manufacturer of printer, and what cartridges it takes. Otherwise, you can look on the sides of the packages, and there will be a listing of the makes of printers it will work with. If you hadn't thrown it out, an ink cartridge recycling service would take the cartridge and replace it with a refilled one, with a discount in exchange for the empty.

Lexmark x73 - prints blank pages

This is a possibility however I can't be positive unless I were there to check it myself... where the printer hasn't been used in years it is highly possible that the ink in the cartridges has dried up. This is not uncommon.

It's also possible that the outlet for the ink on the cartridge itself is blocked with dried ink. You could place the ink cartridge itself in a saucer of nail polish remover (covering the electronic looking portion of the ink cartridge. Leave it there for 30 minutes. Blot dry it with a cloth and replace it into your printer. Try to print once again.

If this doesn't work, you most likely need new ink cartridges. Considering the cost of the ink cartridges for your printer, you are better off buying a new printer in which new ink cartridges are included. A new printer should only cost a little more than the cost of new ink cartridges. Considering you only require am all in one home use printer. Check online sites and check stores as there are usually sales ongoing.

Ribbon came undone on epson printer and can't put it back

to replace the ribbon connector you first need to pull back the two tabs either side of where it is supposed t push in the don't move a great deal maybe 2-3 mm when they are pulled back then you need to insert the ribbon carefully holding it as near to the end as possible and as straight to the connector as possible.

when you think its in as far as it can the gently pus the tow tabs back in too. It can be a little fiddly but with a little patience you should be able to do it (girls are best at this stuff fine delicate hands etc more concentration)

All being well you have re-connected it but if you creased the ribbon at all you could have damaged it beyond repair power up and see if it works
