This might be a case of pump was not stored correctly from 1st season , now pump shaft has become dry and tight , well if your handy with a phillips head you could try and dissasembe pump and lube shaft with waterproof grease ( kitchen faucet parts in hardware store)
i allways store my pump filled with food grade antifreeze (rv grade) and hoses capped off and pointed up , it stays all winter inside an unheated shed with no problems for two swiming seasons now

SOURCE: intex sand filter motor will not run

Opening the little drain plug at the bottom should relieve the pressure and make it easier to turn the basket lid. Is there water to the top of the basket? I had to loosen the clear top of the basket to bleed the air out. If you open the drain where you backwash, will water flow out? It should. Mine flowed out even without the motor running if I remember correctly. If it does not, my guess would be some kind of obstruction.

How to get motor to start? problem with GFCI - not resetting

There should be a rubber plug on the back side of the motor. Remove plug and insert screwdriver into slot of motor shaft and turn motor over manually. This will most often break the corrosion loose in the motor. Pool filter motors corrode when sitting. This will cause the electric motor to partially or permanently freeze up. After turning by hand the motor should start up when plugged back in. Make sure the plug is not connected when attempting to turn motor over. You will have to remove the cover to access this slot in the armature shaft.

My pump does not start and make a humming noise

Could be 2 reasons. If the pump is on and you are hearing a humming noise, it could be a bad capacitor. The capacitor is what starts the pump by giving it a kick start of electricity.

It could also be a seized motor, when it tries to start, it will also make a humming sound, and eventually trip the breaker.

The way to test if it seized is try to turn the motor by hand (Make sure the power is off). If the motor can't turn then it's seized.

Intex sf15110 filter motor will not reset fromreset on cord. does the motor have a reset

It sounds like your GFCI was knocked out. You can put a new plug on the end if you are sure to get the Common, Line, and Ground wires lined up correctly. A trip to a good hardware store should do the trick. If they don't have GFCI plugs then make sure that the receptacle is GFCI protected. (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter).

Pool pump motor noise/hum would come and go, noise was not constant nor continuous, every few seconds would go from high to low sound but volume would seemed constant. was not an extraordinary noise and...

The problem is the starter capacitor on the back or top of motor depending on make. The capacitor is round and black and about 3 inches long and the diameter of a half dollar. it will have 4 wires with quick disconnects on them, unplug and replace capacitor and put wires back on the same way they came off old one. as far as the noise, the bearings are starting to wear and can be replaced when you get tired of the noise. you will have to take it in to have the bearings replaced.

Dishwasher fills with hot water then does nothing

Do you get any humming noise when you turn it ON?

How long its been you used the dishwasher last time...?

If you are getting an humming noise then Sounds like the water circulator pump is stuck. The motor tries to turn it (humming noise), but cannot. So a breaker trips (self reset). Not claiming this is actually the problem, but this is what the motor turns.

I turned the pump on and it is making a humming noise but is not working

the most common problem for the symptoms you describe is a bad start capacitor. There should be a hump on the motor. Remove the two screws that attach it and replace the capacitor inside with an exact match. If it has a start/run capacitor, it may located under the end cover of the motor.

1-1/2 hp sprinkler pump hangs up and just hums sometime

The impeller and or bearings are seized. You may have to force the impeller loose (breaking it to get the unit apart). See if you can obtain the bearings and impeller and shaft seal before attempting the overhaul. Be aware that the hardware attaching the motor to the pump housing may need lubrication before attempting to remove.

Motor humming but not engaging

The pump needs to be primed by adding water to the basket. If it still doesnt start it might need the a rebuild which usually involves replacing the bearings(cost about $150.00 NJ area).
