Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
You either have a coin or a sock in the pump or the pump has failed
Pull the machine forward and undo the clips (If any ) holding the drain hose to the back of the machine
Remove the drain hose from the standpipe and clean around the edge of the pipe.
Get someone with a good pair of lungs to blow into the drain tube
You should hear bubbles coming up inside the machine
If you cant then it is probably a small item of clothing stuck in the inlet pipe to the pump.
If you can then there is a small obstruction holding back or has broken the impeller in the pump
On lots of machines you can see the impeller from the lint trap remover.
Before you open it
Lay the drain hose into a bucket and allow the water to drain out , tip the machine backwards and forwards to remove as much water as possible
Get a wooden skewer and try to turn the impeller by hand
