Re: cpu doesnt work
When you say that the CPU doesn't work, what happens exactly? Does it not power on OR There are beep sounds heard OR there is an error on screen that you would like to share? OR ...
Assuming that the machine is not powering on at all .. here are few checks that you would like to perform...
There is a toggle switch (Voltage selector) at the back of the computer on the power supply unit, just besides where you connect the power cable .. make sure that appropriate voltage is selected.
Try connecting the computer to a different wall socket.
If computer is connected through the Surge protector or UPS then try connecting it directly to the wall socket.
Try using a spare power cable if available.
Remove all other connections apart from Power supply, keyboard, mouse and monitor and see if that makes any difference.
Remove the power supply cord from the back of the computer and press and hold the power button for few seconds .. this would drain the accumulated power from the CPU components .. now reconnect the power supply and see if that makes any difference..
Open the chassis and see that couple of wires run from behind the power button on the CPU to the big circuit board (Motherboard) .. make sure that the wires are properly secured.
Perform these basic checks and let me know and I would glad to assist you further.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

When a motherboard does not beep that isnt good news and its either the Motherboard or CPU.
Have you fot the FSB settings correct on the board?
Is your power Supply Good?
Does your graphics card need power and is it plugged in?
Unfortunately the only way to findout exactly is at fault is through a process of elimination.
Can you try a different power supply first?
Also try removing the CPU and re-seating it.
If not, then you need to try and get hold of another motherboard and see if everything works in that. If not then it could be the CPU.
Diagnosing CPU or MOTHERBOARD is always tricky without spares.
Normally the only way to be sure is to use a CPU that you know works in another computer and test it in the motherboard that is not working. Also make sure that everything is connected to the motherboard properly and you can try disconnecting everything except CPU, RAM, video, and power to see if the computer boots like that.
If you are not getting the power then first of al;l check the power connecter on the back of the cpu fix it if lose. Then also you are geeting this problem then open the cabinet and fix the fan.Below is the relative figure This will solve your problem
PLEASE READ TO END BEFORE TRYING!!!
Did you try the simple fix? First thing is to unplug the computer and then push the power button. Plug the computer back in and then hit the power button again. Did it start? Hopefully. If not and its a desktop, take the side cover off and look at the mainboard. Are the capacitors all flat on top? If any of the capacitors are bulging on top your mainboard is probably going to need to be replace. If not, pull the power connector off of the mainboard. Now take a technicians secret tool (paper clip) and bend it around in a loop and connect the green and one black wire from that connector. This will automatically turn the power supply on if its not defective. This is the simplest of tests for the power supply and will not tell you if you are getting the correct voltages but it will at least let you know if it works at all. Sometimes the fan will come on but the fan will turn slower than usual. This indicates a bad power supply as well. If the power supply is not the problem, plug the power supply back in and unplug all the drives from the mainboard. Now try to power up the computer. If it still doesnt start, remove your RAM and try to power up. If that doesnt work remove all the plug in cards. Try to power up again. If that doesnt work then its probably the Mainboard or CPU.
Hope this helps. If it does please rate it. Thanks...
If it doesnt switch on make sure all the power supply connectors are connected to the motherboard.
Make sure the power switch lead is connected correctly to the power on pins on the board too.
Make sure the CPU fan is connected to the Fan connector on the motherboard to see if the fan spins or not. Try a more powerfull power supply 400w or higher.
just check the power cable from the monitor is connected correctly and plug from cpu to monitor is connected properly be sure is there an loose contact... if it doesnt works means then give reset button in monitor... check the power and frequency control properties in bios .... may be properties is user define or is in maximum saving mode just change it to mininmum saving mode ...it will work...
