Question about Samsung Office Equipment & Supplies

Samsung CLP-300N color laser printer, Tries to startup - makes sounds , but stops immediately with a red light. No toner lights are on. Checked repeatedly: No paper is stuck.

    There are no lights in the front. On startup the printer tries to go through its process - makes noises goes through the four toner color lights check and then begins like it is about to proceed normally, but abruptly stops and the status light turns RED. The paper is 3/4 full in the tray below, but the printer does not even try to load the paper. There are no jams and no bits of paper stuck anywhere. All toner lights are blank indicating that the toner is NOT empty. When I turn it OFF and then ON, the Status light turns Orange then changes to Green and then the printer begins its checks, makes noises and then abruptly stops.

Here is the home online support page for your printer. You will note there is a troubleshooting section that allows you to access error messages for your printer. In this section the following information about the stop condition is found:
Error Messages > On Line LED Is Solid Red which has instructions that indicate either a cover is not closed completely, a toner cartridge is not installed completely, the paper is installed incorrectly, or the cartridge is low on toner, etc.
Please try to work through these articles, here and here, just to be sure it is not a paper or cartridge install issue.
Here is a link to download a pdg manual for your printer, which includes a troublshooting section.

  • Make sure the printer cover is closed
  • Check the paper load in the paper tray, then Press the stop button on the smart panel program window to make sure the printer is not in manual feed mode.
  • See page 43 of the user's guide to understand the meaning of the error lights.
  • Try removing the toner cartridge and redistributing the toner according to the instructions on page 29. Then try to print a test page. Sometimes this will get you added life from your cartridges.
  • Note that even though your last printed page was not faded or improperly printed, the counting software in the printer will sometimes require you to replace the toner cartridges even though they are still printing just fine. For some printers, there are workarounds to fool the printer that allow you to continue printing with old cartridges until the printed page fades, etc. I'm not sure if fixes like this are available for your samsung or not. You could search online. But it's possible that your only problem with the printer is the need for a need cartridge. Especially if redistributing the toner temporarily works to stop the error condition.

Hi there,

Well, it depends -- is the solid orange light on the FRONT -- which indicates that the printer is waiting for paper (either in the manual-feed tray if the light is near the top; or in the paper tray if the light is the one on the bottom).
If it is an red light on the TOP of the printer, it indicates a malfunction (paper jam, etc.)
Also, try turning the printer OFF -- which I presume you did when you took it apart!

    Do some cleaning to your printer, clean the roller of your printer.

Red light stays on and printer wont work


Check the waste toner bottle on the left side. If that is full, you will get red light. Just empty it if is full of waste toner. Re-use the waste toner bottle.

RED status light in Samsung CPL 300N Last time I got solution list in which my printer was not even mentioned

I have a samsung clp 300 which goes through the motions of pre printing & then stops.the red button clicks on & off. I have reloaded drivers, this does not help either


According to the CLP-300N User's Guide page 42, the problem could be

"The waste toner container is not installated or full. Check the container."

Open the front cover, the waste toner container is on the far left side in "L" shape.

My samsung 315 clp has status LED red light on.


It is a color laser printer.it has 4 toner cartridge(1)black(2)magenta(3)cyan(4)yellow all cartridge is missing or toner finished.Please purchase full set toner.All toner cartridge has a image sensor.When toner is run out then it is out of work.

Developer roller worned,common problem.roller can be changed,take drum out,2 screw 1 on the side near toner excess bin and 2nd on roller.

Printer suddenly stuck while starting up


eww this one can be lots of things!!!

make sure no paper jammed anywhere

make sure the print head is moving

make sure the ink cartridge is set down right
