It may be the plastic pieces that are connected to the shifter, they have been known to break easily and render the shifter stuck in place. To check this part, you must remove the center console pieces and when you get to the shifter you will see two pink pieces of plastic, if one of these pieces are broken removing it will let the shifter move, but it will slide easily of course so be careful. The part is inexpensive from the dealer and easy to replace. If you need assistance removing the console without breaking or snapping your panels, get a service manual from Promanuals.net, here is link to your 2005 Chrysler 300. It will give you easy step by step instructions on removing and replacing.

My key from my chrysler 300 hemi 2005 wont come out of the ignition what do i do?

Move the shifter to the neutral position, then all the way back to park, and your key should come out. It has to be in PARK to get the key out. GOOD LUCK. I hope it is as easy as this for you.

Drive stick is lock

u have to have the brake pushed in to take vehicle out of park.. if that doesn't do it.. there is a brake switch on the back of your brake pedal that when u shove brake in it sends a signal to shifter telling it that the brake is depressed.. that switch might be bad..

I have a 2005 Chrysler 300, As I shifted the car from park to reverse I heard and felt a pop in the gear shift. The gear shift moves but the car is stuck in low.

Go to the Prindle switch where the cable meets the transmission and check if it has not unhooked. Move the shifter all the way to the Park position and adjust/tighten.

STUCK IN PARK

Try pushing on break pedal before putting it into gear...if this does not work the break saftey switch telling the transmission you have depressed the pedal is faulty or the fuse to it is blown. :)

Transmission lever will not move out of park

Start it up, step on the brake, and turn the steering wheel hard to the left or to the right to release the shifter.
