Question about Dell E153FP 15" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

My son inadvertantly caused Windows XP to crash; after reloading from the original 2004 disks my system no longer will recognize my E172FPb monitor; no matter how many times I remove and reload the driver directly from Intel's site. Any advice on how to get it back? Currently it only allows low color resolution and all my pix are high res.

No matter how many times I remove then add the driver it's still not recognizing the driver or the monitor. I have the original programming disks but they are not helping me!

Go to the computer manufactures web site and download the video driver for your computer model.
If this is a Dell use your service tag number located on the front or top of the computer to identify your correct system. The driver download site is at this link: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen. If this solves your problem please rate me. Thanks

Hi There: It sounds to me like it's your video card. Look for the drivers for it. This will usually happen if it is an after market card or the drivers are not on the drivers disk. If you have a disk for it fine. If not go to your device manager and see if it can find drivers for it. The fact the monitor is giving you lo res tells me it is working. It's just getting a lo res from the video card. I hope this helps, Jeff.

Acer Aspire 5100 will not boot from ****

The best way to handle this is to completely reformat the drive again, to rid win 7 and the bad XP, and to then re-install XP from the DVD all anew. Any other way is just going to cause hassles trust me.

If it has an onboard video card then reload the video driver.

If it has a PCI-e / AGP video card then download latest drivers and re-install driver, Dont forget to un-install original driver first.

Failing all that see if you can edit the screen resolution in safe mode. (Press F8 when you first switch PC on.

Recently crashed. reloaded with original recovery

After you restore your computer, you must also reinstall the drivers for things like your wireless receiver. This is found on the Drivers disk, also gotten with your computer. Follow directions to recover all drivers are found on the disk.

SONY VIAO BGN SZ390P WO'NT RECOGNIZE CD/DVD DRIVE

You need to download the specific drivers for your drive from the sony web site. I am sure this is the problem. The site is set up to easily scan your computer and give you a list of drivers you need. I set up a Vaio two weeks ago, and loaded the drivers from the site for the disk drives, hard drive, monitor and sound card. Hope this helps. If you have reloaded all of the SONY drivers and it still does not recognize the drive, it sould be that it is not the drive that originally came with your computer.

Nlite Windows XP Pro SP2 not recognized

Dear,

You should use Nero 6 or above version. It is very easy to use.
Just create an image of original disc and then burn it on the blank disc. The copied disc will work fine, I am sure.
Please try it.....

I need a system recovery disk for my Gateway Desktop

If the computer originally came with a backup software disk, you can try contacting gateway for a replacement. If the backup software was instead on a dedicated partition of the original drive you will need an XP home system disk, in which case you can probably get a better deal off the shelf at a retailer. Be sure you get the full version and not an upgrade, as you don't have any windows system currently installed for an upgrade to detect. If your Gateway has a Windows XP COA affixed and you can borrow a full XP Home installation disk from a friend you can install from that disk inputting your number from your COA when prompted. (don't use your friends COA) Microsoft will recognize this as a genuine restored installation so long as you have not changed any other major hardware in the system, and you input the same information for activation as you did originally. And you can get the service packs and other updates just as you always have.

Or: you could become a Linux user for free. For the Linux newbie I would have to recommend the Ubuntu or PCLinuxOS for their user-friendliness. Again that's FREE! if you try it and don't like it you're out exactly $0.00! My systems have been Linux exclusively for about 7 years, and am kinda partial to the Mandriva distributions, though I tried PCLinuxOS a while back and have had that on this system ever since, though it has it's quirks. But don't all systems?

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!
