How to lengthen the water supply hoses. There to short to reach sink.

Buy a flexible braided hose for mains pressure. They come in different lengths.

Fit one end to the water outlet tap and for the other end you will need a fitting you can attach the dishwasher hose to that any plumbing supply has. I don't think you can buy a flexible braided hose that will fit to your water supply tap on one end and then straight to the end of the dishwasher hose on the other. You will need the adapter between the 2 to hook the fittings up. Use plumbers tape on the fittings when installing them for a good water seal.

Or you can just get a plumber in who will fit everything up for you and will also probably use a flexible hose to plumb in the water supply.

When I plug in my dishwasher it trips my test fuse and none of my plug sockets work. Do I need a plumber or electrician?

Electrician. You have a short in the dishwasher which is an electrical problem. Is it tripping GFI outlet. If so the GFI is probably weak or overloaded. Try regular outlet not on the GFI circuit and see what happens.

My plumber just installed a new water supply line for my dishwasher. Now the pump comes on but no water fills up in the machine. If I fill the bottom of the unit with water, it works just fine. Even though...

You don't know how many times I've heard and found the shutoff valve off or partly turned off. Water entering DW is from line pressure not pumping. Items to suspect (again) the water supply valve (would'nt be the first time a new valve is bad). The supply valve (3374621) at the Dw, the float safety switch (normally at front left side,)...remove lower rack, lift float housing up and down. You should hear a click both ways and the housing should be free. Is the Dw fill valve getting control signal from timer. Should be 120v for about 60 sec.

My Indesit D63 dishwasher hums but doesn't fill with water

Most likely your intake solenoid.

Here is how you check.

Start with the simple things and work your way from there. You will be amazed how many people call a plumber who flips a breaker or simply clears a stuck float valve (for $80 minimal fee).

If you are not getting water into the unit but you have lights on and you hear clicking and the timer runs and things are trying to work then we know you have power and the timer is running.

No water coming to the unit.

Make sure nobody shut the supply line off. There should be a tap under the sink on the water supply line to the unit.

Turn the unit on an listen at the base for a click as the water supply solenoid (electric switch) opens. No click?

Check the solenoid. Remove the machine from under the counter. There will be screws holding it to the underside of the counter. You may have to lower the legs to get it out. They turn with a wrench to lower.

Under the unit where the water supply line comes in is a solenoid switch it opens to allow the water to enter the machine. Water comes in under household pressure (it is not pumped in by the unit). Chances are it is faulty. Replace it as it can't be serviced.

Still no luck?

The unit is guided by a timer. The timer tells the machine what to do and for how long. If it fails the unit will stop or jam in one cycle. If you have a physical switch the you turn to select the type of wash cycle check it. If you are all touch control then replace the whole board or machine.

To check the switch open the control panel above and use a voltage tester to see if you have current at each cycle point. Cleaning sometimes helps if not replace.

Hope this helps you. Please rate this tip for me.

I have just purchased a used 501HT model and had it installed by a plumber and electrician. It does not seem to work, when I close the door and push the start button. Can you help ? Also, there is a liquid...

If your dishwasher has not worked since the intial set-up. It could be any number of problems. I would check and make sure your machine's electrical is hooked up properly. A common mistake during set-up of high temperature machine is an electrician will hook it up to 120V when it should be hooked up to 208V. There is also a service switch located on the inside of the lower service panel, usually marked FILL/ OFF/ ON
This switch will need to be in the ON postion. Also the machine has a extended wash/deelime switch located under the door this will need to be turned off in order for the machine to begin a cycle.
You can use a powdered detergent. A liquid detergent is the best way to go. Liquid is the most economical when set-up and titrated properly, as opposed to manualy filling the machine with powder every load. Powdered detergent often leaves a chemical residue on your warewash.

Cant get installation manual

A dishwasher is a simple install. You don't need a manual. First make it fit under the counter or where you want it. Pull it back out.
There are three wires to connect to the house supply line. find those wires. You have to hook up to 110 volts at a wall outlet or tie it to a 110 volt junction supply box. If you can't do that then you need an electrician because that's what the intructions would say. Then you have to supply water. The instructions don't tell you how to be a plumber. You have to figger it out and find where to hook up the washer to your plumbing. There are water tap kits available for this at all hardware stores, but you will have to learn how to be the plumber or call one.

No power

Hi lushman001

I'm Harvey the Master Plunber.

Your question is: your 3-yr-old dishwasher (Whirlpool 24-inch ) stopped in mid-cycle. A small amount standing water in the bottom of the washer. None of the control panel buttons were lit up and none of them will work. NO POWER

First check all the breakers (or fuses).
Second check the electrical connections. If you're not a qualified electrician or service tech then call one. It"s under the unit behind the kickplate.

Hi eaglesblue,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: Just purchased a miele g1142sc dishwasher had a mate over who is a plumber and installed it. No water is coming into the dishwasher is there any safety seals on the water hose, put water into dishwasher pump is working fine.

Please take no offense but a plumber is not the same as an experieced appliance installer. Any way, your mate may have done just fine but the water line is clogged or he failed to flush the line before hooking it up and you may now have a clogged solanoid valve. Did you run the d/w a couple of times before he left? Did you confirm it working then and now it's not?

Plumber fixed the sink, now dishwasher is broken

sounds like the water is off, too coincedantal to brek after the plumber is there, the hot water under the sink is where the water supply to d/w is. obviously youre hot water at sink is working, there shloud be a sperate on/off valve for the d/w somewhere nearby
