I have a quite old la pavoni p3v2 110v 2000w two group machine that I have just finished a rebuild on. The machine goes to full temp on the boiler, the steam is great, but I can't get more than about 140 deg out of the portafilters. I ran a few shots to make sure I was getting hot fresh water and nothing changed. I also am not getting hardly any water out of the left portafilter. The hot water tap is fully functioning at temp (180 ish). I am assuming this is because it is a heat exchange boiler and the steam and hot water tap come directly out of the boiler while the group head gets its water from the exchange. Any ideas where to start?

Check the top of the group head there is a large bolt, within that is the metering jet and filter, that might be the cause of the blockage(either the jet is clogged or the filter is clogged). As for the full temp on the boiler what reading do you get on the gauge boiler side, it needs to be at about 1.2 bars.

What causes my la pavoni europicola to make a whistling when it;s turned on?

hi
it is normal when water heating up and pressure begin to be built in the boiler until the vacuum braker at the safety valve close
but if it continue to whistle when the green light goes off
after few minutes it means you have too much pressure in the boiler and it is realesed through the safety valve
in that case you have to replace your pressurestat or you have scale at the bottom of boiler in the entrance of the pipe leading to the pressurestat

La pavoni stops boiling water

Run some WHITE vinegar through it, followed by plain water a few times. The heating system gets a buildup in it and requires cleaning from time to time.

Adding pressure gauge to Pavoni Europiccola

  1. in the boiler water is heated and presured up to 1.5 bar
  2. when water gets in lever and non return valve closes becouse you press the lever down, your energy is used to get high pressure, it should be frpm 7 up to 9 bar.
  3. SOLUTION==if you search way for modifying, you must consider that you must pump directly to group, not to boiler. in this case water will be cold (becouse comes from pump). you will need boiler in boiler to heat the water wich comes from pump before it gets to group. this is bit more complicated than you thought may bee but it is only solution.

Water leaking from the group

Hi there,
You can buy a service kit for your machine at www.theespressoshop.co.uk and that contains all replacable gaskets and washers and gives you an exploded diagram and sachet of grease and descaler to get your machine back in as new working order. The service kit you require is the "old group service kit" and is about £20. If you go to the website above and click on the la pavoni machine on the right hand side of the home page it will give you the full parts list.

Steam fitting leaks

Hi there,
Yes you require a special spanner which has a slight bend at the top. You can get them at most hardware or mechanic style stores as it is a type of tool mechanics would use. I believe it to be either a 16mm or 19mm. Once you have a tool that fits, hold onto nut inside boiler and unscrew the steam assembly in an anti-clockwise fashion and remove. there will be a brass washer and nut which will probably fall into the boiler. Remove these from boiler and if you go to www.theespressoshop.co.uk and click on the la pavoni machine on the right it will take you to a full parts list where you can purchase a new washer and nut. Then just re-attatch in opposite fashion.
I hope this helps.

Leaking water from the group and steam spout

Hi there,
You will need to take the machine apart completely as there are more gaskets inside the group head. You can buy an old group service kit at www.theespressoshop.co.uk for about £20 and it comes with an exploded diagram so you can see what goes where. Don't worry there is no technical mechanical solenoid like the last comment stated. I repair these machines for a living and all it needs is a good service.

LA PAVONI PISA

Ah ha! I just fixed the problem.

The black steam knob is bonded to the shaft. The shaft/knob assembly is removed by rotating the spring keeper on the brass housing the shaft fits into by 90 degrees to allow the shaft to be pulled out once the knob is rotated enough to disengage its thread from the brass housing.

Once the cover over the boiler is removed you will see three thermostats mounted on top of the boiler.

The middle one has the reset button located between the two power connectors. Push it down and you will hear a metallic snap as it resets.

I now have a working La Pavoni Pisa Espresso Machine again and it was free to fix it!

Wooo Hooo!!!
