Have you tried sites like eBay and possibly get a used, working one?
The problem you would run into is with the laptop case. Another motherboard would probably not line up correctly with the inside of the case or things such as the USB ports . So if you were to look for another motherboard, you'd want to keep that in mind. unless you were making your own case to fit the motherboard, it will probably be more problematic for you.
But if you want to rig it and experiment, just make sure it is compatable with ram, CPU, connections to video and display... Everything. I can say I have only successfully made another motherboard work in one other laptop in 4 years. The models were very similar.
