Hotsync problem via usb

recently i tried to hotsync my clie peg-sj33 and its showin a message that the usb port is in use by another applicaton;i ve tried installing the handheld in two other different pcs and still its showin the same message. i ve even installed the cd several times on my pc as well. but i m still getting the same message. i am unable to to hot sync via USB port. please advice on what i should do.
