Most likely if you are running an apple computer and you try to add another operating system, especially vista, unless you have the exact drivers that connect vista to the hardware, then you experience these types of problems

I want to be install a windows 7 on my mac < but say to me this """The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for...

The first part of the message is saying that you can't have a start up hard drive that is already partitioned. Did you try launching Boot Camp Assistant? If you look in your "Applications" folder and open the "Utilities" folder, it's there. I believe Boot Camp Assistant will create the partition you need.

Sounds like you have a Windows exclusive CD. It will not work on Mac OS.
If you have a windows install disk, you can install Windows on your Macbook Pro using Boot Camp via the Boot Camp Assistant located in Applications/Utilities. This will require you to restart and select one desired system to boot up in order to use OS X or Windows.

Alternatively you could run Windows and Mac OS simultaneously with a program such as parallels.

I need help with using a VuPoint FS-C1-VP film scanner with an OS X 10.6 (snow leopard) system. (It came only with a Windows software driver and application.)

doesn't look like theres any drivers for mac on their website.
you will need to find a windows machine or do a bootcamp install of windows on your mac.
this way you can install the drivers on the windows machine and then copy the scans over to your mac when your done.
you will need a windows xp service pack 2 cd or higher to do a boot camp install.

How to parition the harddrive for windows

If You Have Problems Creating a Partition If you have problems creating a Windows partition, check the following: * The disk must be a single partition, formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). If the disk already has more than one partition, you must repartition it. * The disk must be an internal disk. You cannot use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows on an external disk. * If a dialog appears saying "The disk cannot be partitioned because verification failed," try repairing the disk using Disk Utility and opening Boot Camp Assistant again. If that doesn't work, back up all the information on your computer, start up from your Mac OS X installation disc, and erase the disk using Disk Utility. Restore the information to your computer from the backup and try opening Boot Camp Assistant again.

Sound problem

Actually, what you have to get is the Vista version of the High Definition Audio Codecs fom Realtek .... http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3
Insert Leopard DVD for Boot Camp Drivers [if you know how to use torrents then download from here http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3860505/BootCamp_2.0_(Leopard)_Windows_drivers] . Don't auto-run the installer. Navigate to the drivers folder and there you find the individual .exe files files for each driver.
Right click on the RealTek driver and select 'troubleshoot installation'. Windows will ask you several questions, but basically the gist of it is to tell Windows that 'This driver used to work OK in Vista'.
or
You need drivers of boot camp on mac osx 10.5.4 dvd.then open Drivers folder, you will see RealTekSetup.exe right click then click to troubleshoot compability. A window will apper. You'll se Program Compability click next below. Select "the program worked earlier versions of windows but won't install or run nom." and click next. Realtek Setup will start and install drivers. solution is just this.
Lemme know if this solved the problem...

20" iMac Boot

Ar this is a regular problem i get when people try to install Windows XP or Linux on Boot camp e.t.c.
What's happened is Linux has Tampered with the boot up files and now it won't be able to boot into Linux or Leopard.
What you need to do is insert you Leopard Install disk that came with you iMac Into the Disk Drive, the disk/disks are grey and may be two CDs or 1 DVD.
Restart the iMac and the moment you hear the chimes go off when it boots up, Hold down C on the keyboard. The boot disk for leopard will then boot up,
From here follow the instructions and if your lucky you may be able to upgrade, if not, go through the system utility and repair disk permissions e.t.c.
If nothing works, You will have to do a clean install,
But you may be able to recover a thew images and mp3 files with a great bit of software i like to use, http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php
You do have to pay for it, and you will need to install it on macbook e.t.c. if you have one in order for it to work If your confused there is a number of guides out there on that website or on google
Hope i have been of any help

The drivers for XP are on the official OS X Leopard DVD. Install this when running XP and then run the Apple Drivers Set up on the disk.

How to install vista on I-MAC

Hi Harry

yes, vista can be installed on I-macs ...but i need to know which version of operating system do you have (whether it's leopard or tiger and version 10.5.2 or earlier)
I say so because new version of Leopard Operating system has a feature called "boot camp"... this is Apple's "bootloader" ... which means it will help you install windows Vista on Apple I-mac .

If you have genuin vista disk handy with you and after you have backed up all the data on the apple machine , this is what you gotta do....

1. Using the Finder, navigate through Applications, Utilities and run Boot Camp Assistant.
2. Click Continue on the Introduction screen.
3. Next, you will need to specify how you want your hard drive divided up for Windows. A separate partition will be created that Windows will use. Drag the divider to adjust the size for Windows as shown below. I recommend at least 15 GB to allow for the OS and some apps. When you are ready, click Partition and your disk will be prepared.

4. It is time to start the Windows installation. Insert your Windows Vista install DVD and click Start Installation. Your Mac will automatically reboot and boot to the install DVD.

5. Install Windows Vista as you would normally do. When asked where to install, select the partition called BOOTCAMP. You will need for format this partition with NTFS.
6. When Windows Vista has installed, remove the Windows Vista install DVD and insert your OS X 10.5 Leopard install DVD. Run the Boot Camp installer application and all the Windows drivers for your Apple hardware will be automatically installed.

7. When you want to switch to OS X or Windows, just reboot and hold down the Option key to select what partition to boot.
