Question about Audio Players & Recorders

2 Answers

I have old amplifier and separate tuner. In the interests of saving energy I switched them off while I went away. Amplifier is CS 300. It has a remote facility but I have not used that for a long time. Usually the red standby light was on all the time. When I switched it on at the switch, the light went Green and the tuner light came on and I could use the radio. Now the standby light was on when I switched the electricity back. When I attempted to turn the tuner on, the light went out altogether. So anyway the tuner electricity must come through the tuner. I can't switch that back on. Any thoughts? I have checked the switches and counted etc. They all seem OK. Thanks for this opportunity. Marion Blair Australia.

Hi...
The fuse usually is mounted on the main circuit board inside but the modern amplifiers have a small tube somewhere on the back and you can unscrew
the tube easily. the tube it's not visible but will be a circle with a + cross in it and just unscrew and pull out

Its a common problem. The fuse inside the device is blown out.--fuse is a small tube of about 1 inch. replace the fuse with a new fuse and it will get back to work.it will cost approx a dollar or two.nothing much to worry about.
thanks for using fixya.keep updated.

There are a number of amplifiers in the TA series, but the connections are basically the same.
In your system, the amplifier serves as master control. How do you know? Look for the component that offers input selection -tuner, cassette, CD, video, phono and probably auxiliary. Every other component plugs into and is controlled by the integrated amplifier. For example, plug the tuner wires from the tuner output to the amplifier input marked "Tuner." To use the tuner, just select that input from the front panel. Same with all the other components.

On the back of that unit will a bunch of RCA jacks for left and right channels. Take the hook-up wires, usually RCA cables with colored plugs on each end, and connect the OUTPUT jacks on each separate component to the INPUT jacks on the amp. Power may also be controlled from the amp. On audio plugs, red is right and white is left. Keep the polarity constant as you connect each component. Connect the speaker wires to the speaker outputs, usually spring clips or screw terminals on the amplifier end and the same on each speaker. The DVD video cable will have three wires: Yellow, red and white. Yellow is always video. It may also have a little round video connector for S-VHS which provides a much better picture when using DVD.
Select your desired input and enjoy the show. Service Manual free download schematics datasheets eeprom bins pcb...

Can I connect two tv to one television converter box to watch local channels

If neither TV has a digital TV tuner, you will only be able to watch one channel on both TVs with one converter box. You will also need some sort of RF repeater if you want the person in the second room to change the station without moving the box. You will need a splitter/amplifier connected to the converter box TV out. (I'll assume you are using the coax out.) If you will only watch one TV at a time, then use an A/B switch on the converter box TV out.

If one of the TVs has a digital tuner, put the splitter/amplifier between the antenna and the converter box and the TV with the digital tuner.

Note: amplifier/splitters and switches do fail. If you get a "no signal" message, take out the splitter and connect the converter box directly to the antenna or one of the TVs depending on your set up.

I hope this helps.

How do I connect my CD Player, Tape Deck and Tuner to the SU 300 Technics Amplifier

hi,
For connecting these to your amplifier you need 4 Stereo RCA Cable.
1.Connection for cd:
Take one of the RCA cable connect the one end (red/white) jack to the line out of your cd and connect the other end (red/white) to the CD input of Your amplifier.
2. Connecting the tunner:
Take one of the RCA cable and connect the one end (red/white) jack to the line output of you Tuner and connect the other end (red/white) to the TUNER input of your amplifier.
3. Connectiong the tape deck:
Now you have two RCA cable. Take one of the RCA cable and connect the one end (red/white) jacks to the PLAY out of the Tape deck and connect the other end (red/white) to the TAPE 1 play input of your amplifier.
Now connect the last RCA cable. Connect the one end (red/white) jack to the record input of the TAPE deck And connect the other end (red/white) to the TAPE 1 Record input of your amplifier.(this connection will help you to record to tape from cd or tuner. if you are not interested in recording then you can avoid this connection.)

Now you can select these three items from the frond plannel control switch of the amplifier.

I have a technics ST-X933L tuner as part of a separates system and the volume on the amplifier has to be turned up to almost full volume to be heard. All other inputs are playing at the expected volume for...

You can answer the question by jacking the tuner's outputs into any other Line Level input on your amp/receiver. If it's still low, the tuner is at fault.

BTW: NEVER use full volume as a test unless you intend to blow up your speakers.

Problem no sound

If your KENWOOD unit is experiencing audio problems (NO Audio), but do have audio when TUNER is selected as the source, you may have problems with your installation.

NOTE: If using an external amplifier or the unit was installed using a separately purchased wiring harness for your specific vehicle, please check the following

If Using an External Amplifier

The P.CONT or REMOTE terminal on the external amplifier requires a “turn on” signal from the stereo. This terminal should be connected to the BLUE/WHITE P.CONT wire on the Kenwood harness and not the solid BLUE ANT.CONT wire.

If Using a Vehicle Specific Harness
The vehicle has a factory installed amplifier and requires a “turn on” signal from the stereo. Make sure that the BLUE/WHITE P.CONT wire is connected to the vehicle specific harness and NOT the sold BLUE ANT.CONT wire.

The solid BLUE ANT. CONT wire is used to trigger a power antenna ONLY when the tuner is selected as the source. Using this wire to “turn on” an external amplifier or factory installed amplifier will only allow it to work when TUNER is selected. Please refer to your instruction manual for proper installation. If you are not completely comfortable with installing the unit yourself, we recommend that you seek assistance from a professional installer.
