Frigidaire Gallery side by side not working properly for one week. Won't make ice and the freezer side feels like the refrigerator side. Refrigerator side is barely cool. I emptied the melting ice, cleaned the condensor fan and reset temperture. I had just bought groceries and had door opened as I was putting away the meat products.

Hello Jim czyryca - From what you are describing if the ice maker is not making ice but is dispensing water, sounds like the refrigerator has a frozen water line, faulty ice maker valve or bad component that sends power to the ice maker valve when needed. The ice maker cycles internally to call for water so I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.

Its defrost issue.
Defrost cycle is not taking place on time or its not working at all.

Hello Claire Trancoso - If the refrigeration side is the one with the issue, you need to check the damper door/switch that is between both doors. In side by side units this damper controls the cool air from the freezer to come over to the refrigeration side to cool it. Contact a professional technician to diagnose if the unit has a floating restriction, an issue with the evaporator fan or a possible air leak.

check the damper door located between the freezer and refrige compartments,it may be iced up in the closed position and can't let cold air in from the freezer,it may be covered behind a plastic cover or diverter,you may feel some cold air in this area moving if its open part way,if its iced up,use a hair dryer and defrost it then adjust the cold control in the refrige and see if the damper door opens and closes with adjustment of this control

Check for two things. Look under the refrigerator and make sure the compressor fan is turning.

Second, check inside the freezer for proper operation of the fan that moves cool air throughout the freezer and refrigerator. If this fan is working, you can probably hear it. It should be behind an access plate in the freezer (near the top). Remove the plate and look at the fan. If it's not turning, you will have to replace the fan motor.

Seems to me that your defrosting timer is not working.When defrosting is not working unit will collect ice on element(Hidden)Could also be fan inside refrigerator which is not working properly.You need a repairman.Jan

turn down the temperature inside of the freezer compartment to -2 degrees /. also make sure that the arm is in the down position.

#1. DEFROST TIMER stuck or defective. Not allowing DEFROST CYCLE to occur. Most probable.
#2. THERMOSTAT (cold control) has gone bad.
#3. CIRCULATING FAN. It pulls air from the FREEZER side into the REFRIGERATED side.
#4. and lowest in probability. LOW (leaking) coolant charge.
