Re: doesnt allow me to add chapters
ON what particular mode did you used? Is that a timeline or the story board? I suggest to you if you used story board switched it to timeline for you to allowing you to put chapter to your movies clips. By the way here is the procedure on how to. http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=214183&Hilite=menu

fwk.exe comes out when trying to open or launched your Studio program. You need to uninstall Studio program then remove all the folder from Pinnacle.
Here check this step by step procedure on how to delete all Pinnacle Folder.
>double click on my computer >Local drive c: >look for Program Data. Take note that Program Data is not visible then all you have to do is to click on Organized>folder and search options>click on view and put check on show hidden files and folders and click okay. >double click on program data then go ahead and delete all Pinnacle Folder >double click on program files then delete all Pinnacle folders >double click on Program files X86 same thing. >go to control panel>(program and features if Vista), program and security if Windows 7, add/remove program if Windows XP then uninstall Studio. >restart the computer after wards. >install Studio 12 Once again check if still the same problem.
Studio error: Cannot create disc because the selected menu has no links This
error will occur if a menu has been added to the project, but links to
chapters have not been properly set. It is not enough to just add a
menu to a project; it is also required to have at least one point in
the project associated with the menu. When
adding a menu to a project, you will be prompted to let Studio create
chapters automatically or you can choose to create chapters manually.
If you choose to have Studio create the chapters automatically it will
always add at least one chapter and this error should never occur. If
you choose to add chapters manually, it is then required to add at
least one chapter. Here are basic instructions to accomplish this.
Double-click on the menu in the timeline to bring up the Menu Properties.
Select that video clip in the timeline that you would like to link to the menu.
Right-click on the video clip in the timeline and select "Set Disc Chapter."
Alternately you can drag the clip to the button in the menu displayed in the Menu Properties window.
additional information on creating menus, please see the Disc Menus
section of the Help file by going to Help -> Help Topics in Studio.
select the clip and bring up the sound toolbox and just lower the volume on that one clip to nothing. other than that the another way of doing it would be to copy that one chapter into a new project, delete the audio from it, render it out so you have a new version. then reopen the original project and replace the old chapter with the new silent one.
it sounds like a codec problem. you need to check what file type your camera is storing the files onto the disk. right click the disk right click a chapter and select the properties option then make a note of the file type mpeg 2 or mp4 or avi etc. next find out if pe supports that file type (should be in the manual some where) and if it doesn't the codec may be downloadable from adobe support, also make sure the data code function is switched on on your camera as this is how the software sees the chapters (again should be in the camcorder manual) another option is to try pinnacle studio software as its a lot easier to use and i have never had a problem with it. you can pick one up on e bay for about a tenner (version 8 will be good enough)
hope this helps
