I left dehumidifier running all night in the basement, next day tere is now water in the bucket

There is water in the bucket or no water in the bucket? If there is water in the bucket then empty it and put it back. If there is no water in the bucket then make sure the bucket is all the way in, (there is a switch that senses the bucket). If the bucket is not all the way in the de-humidifier will not work. If you do not hear it, it is not working.
