Hi: No.1 it takes 24 to 72 hours for the machine to make ice. No. 2, If the freezer is not at zero degrees it will not make ice. I'm not talking frozen but zero F. Ice cream will be rock hard. These icemakers are thermally proctected as not to dump unfrozen ice in the tray. I hope this helps, Jeff

Hi, I have a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator model #596.76253702 that leaks water from the bottom every time the ice maker refills. The problem keeps getting worse since I purchased this product 2 years ago.

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.
If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

Ice maker water not stopping
The water inlet valve may be staying open. You can swap the wires on the dual water inlet valve and disconnect the water line at the valve which goes to the ice maker. When you try the water dispenser the water will come out there. When you stop the water dispenser, if the water at the valve doesn't stop, the valve isn't closing so you'll need to replace it. If it does stop after trying it several times then the problem is with the ice maker.

Ice maker will not work. Water is coming into the back of the refrigerator and water dispenses out of water dispenser. But no water will go to the ice maker.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Whirlpool GR2FHTXVQ00 fridge. Water dispenser

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.
The valve can leak because of sediment in the water preventing it from closing or low water pressure.

You can thaw out the fill tube and replace the inlet valves.

Not making Ice

Is the freezer at least 10 degrees? Is there water in the ice mold? If not put some to see if it will harvest after it freezes. If no water getting to ice mold Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker.
