Question about Sanyo MM-5600

Open Question

Sanyo 5600 says phone off and none of the keys work. When i take the battery out (to reset it) I am able to turn the phone on but it still says Phone off and no keys (except side key) work. the side key I can get to work but it only goes to the record function and then nothing else. I realise this is an old phone so is it just a case of it past its used by date? Ann

Is it on vibrate? Even if sound is up, if your phone setting is on vibrate you will not get playback sound.

SOURCE: Suspect Battery is Dead But Not Completely Certain

In my 30+ years of servicing battery operated devices, I have to tell you that 95% of the time, it's a bad battery.

Question1 : I agree that it should operate on outlet power. Perhaps the battery has a shorted cell and is eating up all of the charger's available current. Chargers have a limited amount of capacity.

Question2: Charge the battery then remove it from the phone. It should be slightly warm to the touch if you touch it within a few minutes of completion. If you have access to a DC Voltmeter, let the battery sit for a couple hours and check the voltage. It should be at least (usually higher) what is written on it. Other than that, replacing it is the only other way.

Hope that helps...

SOURCE: keys won't work on sanyo mm 8300 phone

I used a very small eyeglasses-repair flat-bladed screw-driver that was the same width as one side of the tri-angle screw head to remove the screws on half of a sanyo scp-8300 phone that I found on the road. I do advise caution when releasing the hidden plastic clips around the edge of the phone where the seam between top and bottom is. Once open, you will find a ribbon-cable that leads to the top half of the phone, a rubber pad that has all the keys on it, and the phone's circuit-board, where there is a white plastic sheet overlaying the actual physical buttons mounted on the circuit-board. My advice would be to gently clean the rubber key-pad with warm water and dish-soap. Also, check for sticky gunk around the edges of the key-holes in the plastic case of the phone, if you find some- carefully wash it off with a wet tissue or a cotton swab, use rubbing alchohol if it won't clean off. But, be aware that some plastic can melt or turn gooey when cleaned with alchohol, or it might just remove the color from it. Hope this helps, TechnoWolfy.

Screens and bottom keys are frozen

hi mspeaches062. MY first tip take the battery out. Now after you take the battery out of the phone clean the contacts and the connections with a tooth brush that has not been used. Next put the battery back into the phone. This should reset the phone for you. If none of this works for you you have to go to gmail and make sure all your information is back up . Because your going to do a hard reset on the phone. this is a last resort effort make sure you take the memory card out of the phone. I don't want you to erase all the information on the card by accident. Now if none of this works or you can't get the touch screen to work then you will need to go back to your carrier and have them replace the phone. Hope i help a little

How do I get the phone numbers off a SPC-5600?

I dont understand your question as stated.

Do you want to delete numbers on your list of contacts?

Generally, open your contact list and look for a menu item (maybe a soft key) look for edit or erase or delete.

My Motorola Rizr 23 makes calls on it's own and none of the keys are working. I can't even turn it off. I have tried taking out the battery but it didn't do anything

take the back off and remove the battery and remove the sim chip. Put the battery back in and power up the phone without the sim chip. This seems to reset the phone. Turn off the phone, remove the back take out the battery, reinstall the sim chip and put the battery back in - and the phone shoudl work.
Also, If you have a bunch of message, pictures and recordings, clean it up.

Cell phone help!

If you have a sanyo 2400 and you call someone if the phone will go on speaker then the phone speaker is fine but it does not your speaker is out, if so you will need to take it to a sprint store to have the speaker replaced, If the phone does go on speaker but the ringtone doesnt work then you will need to update software or reset the phone. By reset I mean have all the info deleted off the phone, if you want you can have a Sprint Service and Repair Tech save your numbers and do this for you.

Keys will not work

Sounds like you locked the keypad.

I know you stated all the keys don't work, but let's give this a try.

Press the "unlock" key (the key in the upper left)

Enter your lock code (usually 0000)

Let me know if this helps.

If you use a car charger, use a wall plug instead and replace the battery; because a lot of car chargers can harm battery life…especially if that is all you’ve ever used. Also check the settings on the phone, if you have disabled power saving features that dim the screen after so many seconds then the back light will drain the battery very quickly. Use name brand batteries and not the ones that come with the phone, Sometimes the ones that come with the phone can ****. Finally, make sure that you do not have a short in your wall charger and that the first time you use a new battery you charge it fully to begin with and don’t charge it again until it is completely depleted. Supposedly newer batteries do not have to be primed, but I find it is a good practice anyway. Use the charger that came with your phone, the voltage/amps are not always just right if using a radio shack special.
