Usb will not go into camera properly and can't

Usb will not go into canon powershot 560 camera properly and can't connect to computer

  • Joanna Caldas Jun 21, 2009

I originally encountered this problem with the USB cable that came with camera, so I thought it was the cable, then bought another one that I was told was compatible. That did not work either - I will definitely try your solution if you tell me what the "plub" is and where it is located, and how to shave it! Thank you!!!

Are you using the USB cable that came with the camera or are you trying to use another USB cable. The camera end of the USB cable that comes with the camera is thinner than some after market cables. Check to make sure that the camera end is in completely.
You can shave the area around the plub so that the cable properly seats or get a better, thinner camera end cable.

    Sorry about the "plub" misspell.

You need to make sure that the camera end (plug) of the USB cable is seating all the way in the camera connector. The "shaving" refers to trimming the camera end of the cable enough so that the cable properly seats in the camera connector.

Let me know if this works.

How do I connect the Canon Power short A 560 to MacBook Air

At first I thought the macbook air does not have an USB connector, but it has. At least one USB3 connector. That is how you connect the camera. And to get the picture transfer to work, you need the CD that came with the camera. The program CameraWindow DC is on the CD for both Windows and Macintosh.

When I try to download pictures to my laptop from my camera nothing happens...My camera says at the bottom communication error...I have had the camera since Feb and downloaded pictures to my laptop many...

Canon PowerShot SX130 IS Digital Camera's come equipped with the installation cds for their software. Make sure these are installed properly. The reason that the camera is stating "communication error" is that it cannot properly communicate with the computer, so make sure that your USB works properly (ie. no bite marks on the wire, it's not loose, you get the drift), that you're not using a USB hub (or if you are, it's capable of sending and receiving packets at a high speed) and that your camera is charged. Usually this can be resolved with changing the USB, so try another usb if you have one lying around, and make sure that it's connected properly to the camera and the computer.

Cannot import photos from cannon powershot 560 to dell laptop using vista.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
