JVC compact VHS camcorder will not record.

Camera seems to work and can play tape in view finder but will not record and says lens cap when trying to record. Lens cap is off. Any idea if this is an easy fix or not ? Model #GR-AX880U S/N: 118Q0903. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: JVC compact VHS camcorder will not record.

Apparently this same problem exists on many different models. I have a JVC grd72u. I called JVC @ 800-252-5722. I selected the "Corrective Action Program" prompt from the automated attendent. I spoke to a customer service rep. They are aware of the problem and are fixing it for free, but only until 12/31/07. I suggest you call ASAP and get your name in the computer. If the problem is something besides the CCD sensor, they will call you with the estimate to repair.

I bought a JVC GR-SXM250u Super VHS camcorder a couple days ago and the picture has horizontal lines flashing in and out so I can't see in the display both in pause mode and in record mode. He said he...

you may have a faulty camera there,,,or the vcr tape may be faulty and has spred some of the tape on the recording head try running a cleaning tape through the vcr first to clean the heads,,then use a new tape (not the old tape!) to try that out,, if its cleans the head up throw away the old tape so you never put it back in this vcr

I cant find a solution but causes may be :
1. Did you remove the LENSE CAP ?
2. PRobably there is a small switch that tells the camera that LENSE CAP is on or something dunno

About that recording problem
1. LCD Broken?
2. Other technical issues ...

Im not proffesional or anything :P Wish you luck with better people at this D: .

Assuming you don't see any video through the viewfinder, it could be that the CCD has died on that camcorder. It happens, though not frequently.

If the video though the viewfinder is clear, there might be some sensor on the lens ring to indicate a lens cap, or an automatic lens cap not properly disengaging when put in record mode.

No image at all...

The JVC C-Format camera can have one of two seperate problems that cause this symptom. The connector to the CCD comes loose and causes loss of video. Also, the CCD has been a source of problems for some time now, JVC will repair this for you free of charge if it's the CCD causing the problem. Good luck to you. Joe Weibel

Jvc 200u problem recording to vhs video tape, from camcorder

Yes, if the camera is a US camera then it is NTSC. That would be your problem, you are trying to record an NTSC signal to a PAL video. THe frame rates and resolutions are all wrong. I am even surprised that it is playing back on your TV okay...
