I've just gotten this back from a screen repair, and now the chromebook won't turn on if it's not plugged in.
When it is plugged in, the battery light initially flashes green and orange before finally settling on orange. When it is turned on, the battery icon can't be seen.
Once unplugged, it will immediately turn off.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DI IS HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON UNTIL A SCREEN COMES UP THAT SAYS: "SUSTEM IS REPAIRING ITSELF". That screen will stay on and along the top of the screen you will see a percentage progress line of the repair in progress. (It will take around 4-5 minutes)
That is weird. Does the Chromebook see the wireless router? I just looked on Google's Chromebook website and it says that the Chromebook works with any security setting. What type of Wifi router do you have at home? This is the Google page talking about Wifi connection issues.
It sounds like either your Lcd data cable loose or graphic card fried from excess heat. If you feel excess heat at the bottom of your laptop near the fan ventillation, then most probably it is graphic card. A chiplevel technician can repair your laptop. Don't try any repair if you are not a technician. Any repair without proper knowhow will kill your notebook for ever. Hope i helped you
