Question about Whirlpool GEW9250 Electric Dryer
I have a Simpson 4kg dryer - model Eziloader 39P400. I close the door but I cannot push the button in properly to make it start. This has happened before and I thought it may be the door slipping so jiggled it around and it worked. But this time I cannot press the button to start the dryer.

On dryers with the old mechanical timers you can turn the knob in either direction without harming the mechanism. On either type, even electronically controlled models with a problem like you described, there are a lot of possibilities. After confirming you have power to the appliance check the thermal safety fuse located on the heater housing.
