See if there is a way thru the onscreen menu to remove everything off of the drive. If there isn't then hook it up to the computer and let me know the message that comes up?

Find a way to format it.youll lose all of the songs but it will work again.best bet would be is to use a xp installation disk.boot off of it and go to the partion of the mp3 and delete it and create a new one.you might want to format or you might not have to.if you format it stop it before xp starts to copy files to for the os.make sure you get the right partion.if you got any more questions please email me at gamecrazy944@yahoo.com

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Make sure the card is a microSD card, not a microSDHC card. The e250 only works with microSD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Sansa e250

Go ahead and do this, in case the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Even after resetting my e250, i still get the sandisk screen and it wont go to my menus after i restart it!

I Think You Should Try Starting Your Sansa In Recovey Mode ( Put The Sansa On Hold, Hold Down The Record Button While Turning The Sansa On) Then Plug It In To Your PC  Than Update Your Firmwire

Sansa e250 screen is stuck on refresh database

Press the "lock" button to where the Orange is showing. Then press the record button on the left side of the MP3 for a bit. Try this several times. I did it twice and it worked! M.P.
