Question about Dell 962 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer

Dell AIO 962 - not copying, scanning or printing

Our Dell 962 lost its scanning and copying abilities around... two or three months ago. Not a huge deal considering how rarely we've had to use those features. Now it has stopped printing also (Error 1203). The cartridges are fine. I've tried unhooking the power supply (multiple times) and cleaning the cartridge contacts. Still nothing. Is there any way to fix this suite of problems or is this the end of the line for this particular unit (it is almost four years old)?

    I'm not sure I'm replying to the clarification request in the right spot or not, but oh well. I did un-install and then re-install the drivers awhile back, but it was either early this year or in the Fall of last year. That fixed the problems at that point. I thought of trying the same thing again, but have not had the time to; I'll try to make time for that tomorrow night.

    I tried un-installing and then re-installing the drivers. The results are mixed: the scanner now works, but the copier and printer features are still frozen. The "Error 1203" message comes up whenever I turn the machine on regardless of whether or not my laptop is hooked up to it and I am trying to print anything. It shouldn't be a problem with the actual ink cartridge because the problem did not come until we were about half-way through these cartidges.

    Any other ideas/possibilities?

    have you tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it?

    I did some research, and that Error message is a driver error, I would recommend that you make time for that, and un install and re install your drivers, that should solve your problem. if not hit me back and we'll try to work through it.

My Del 962 will not scan. The light does not come on and it does nothing. What should I do?


Hi,.... I'm having the same problem as sharon_mi334. My Dell AIO 962 does not copy, fax or scan...but prints. When attempted(copy, fax or scan), the output is a scanned image or a print out that's completely black. When I looked at the "scanner light unit/ copier camera" or what-ever it's called ... the gizmo that moves across under the glass plate,... I noticed there was NO light coming out of it as it should on any other copier, etc. Sooo,... is that the problem, ie: unable to copy the image? If so, can I fix that by replacing a bulb or a particular unit? Looking for some advice and thank you for your help and time.

Dell AOI printer 962 showing error 2200 when trying to scan or copy. I have tried disconnecting and re-installing but have been unable to fix it. Can anyone help ? Mac


go to printers find dell aio 962, right click propertys, check 1st it is set to the right port, usb, paralell which ever the printer uses and that bidirectional support is enabled.same prop. page click advanced and be sure start printing immediately is checked then ok and try printing then. if no prob here then you may have a bad driver, a bad cable or a bad printer.

Dell 962 prints fine - copies, scans and faxes are illegible


That is a sound approach you offer because, 1.) Cleaning the Carts. usually solves streaking, 2.) Cleaning the strip on the read glass fixes lines on the scanned images, 3.) You may have a saturation of ink inside the conveyance rollers that is soaking everything. You don't want to know how hard it is to get all the ink out of a wet printer. Replace it, save the hassle.

Scanning Problem


Are you getting any kind of pop ups when you try to scan?

What kinds of AntiVirus Software are you using.

What operating system are you using: ex. Vista; XP Home; XP professional?

Dell AIO 962 can't send scanned info


Try reinstalling the printer software by downloading the latest version from support.dell.com.Also try using the printer with a different system if avialable.

What are the correct settings for Dell AIO 962?


Hi there: Some clarification questions from me:

1. What operating system?
2. What did you have to re-install? The whole operating system or just this printer?
3. Have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the Dell site?
4. Are you able to copy something just using the Copy buttons on the unit itself?
5. Are you able to print to the printer successfully after re-installing?
6. What program are you using to scan?

My Dell AIO 962 Printer does not respond


The printer is dead and needs replacement. If covered under warranty, u can get a replacement from Dell. Speak to Dell support and they can give you alternative solution.
