If I unplug the internet wire from the netgear and plug into the modem the internet works the minute I plug back into the netgear the internet does not work any suggestions

Most likely your router is not configured correctly. you did not indicate which ISP you have but since you can get on line when connected directly to the modem I would assume that one of two things is happening:
your ISP provided a static IP which is in your computer and the the modem is configured as a bridge.
- this option is very unlikely as most IPs are assigned dynamically.

option two your modem is configured as a router and is getting its information assigned dynamically from the ISP. In this case you will need to log into the web interface of your router (typically if not try with login of admin and password for the password.
make sure the WAN interface (Internet interface) is configured for automatic configuration (DHCP)
save the settings in the router.
reconnect the modem to the router and power off the modem first and then the router.
power cycling the modem and router will clear out the arp cache in the modem.
after they power back up you should be able to go back in to the router and verify that the router has obtained an IP from the modem.

Had a power cut and now router has stopped working

if the light is flashing Red then your router has "forgotten" its password for your service provider. if however the light next to it is flashing ( looks lik twisted wires ) then your router has not syncronised with the exchange.

If it has lost its password you will nedd to log on to the router through internet explorer by typing this will get you to the authentication page. the username will be "admin" and the password "password" once in there click on "setup" and then re-enter the username and password supplied to you by your internet provider and all should be well.

If the twisted wire light is flashing then you will need to wait until the i light starts flashing

My pc wont connect to the is hard wired to my wireless router (netgear) and my wireless router is working just fine...i unplugged everything and started it back up in the correct sequence and...

Is there any other computer working. IF this is the only computer then connect your computer directly to the modem and check if that works. If you have other computer working then then check the IP address on the computer. Make sure that there is no static IP address on your computer.
If your computer is not on line through the modem then you will need to call ISP and check the Internet connection.
If your computer is on line through the modem then you will need to check the settings of the router.

Wndr 3300 net gear router wont work with hn 9000 hughes net modem

I went to the Hughes web site to check out the modem. They say it is also a router. I think you will have to disable the router abilities of your WNDR 3300 Net Gear Router.

Get into the Netgear setup by loging on to it.In its WAN setup select Static IP Address and set the Static IP Address to the same as the hughes modem, except for the last number which should be about 50 greater. IE: Hughes and Netgear

In the DHCP setup, disable the DHCP Server

In the Wireless setup, Give your network a name is SSID. You should also set up security to keep others off you internet connection with a WEP key.

I hope this helps.

I had changed some information with the netgear on my computer.

Type in your browser:

then user= admin
pass = blank (no pass) or the word password

after that you will have access to the settings of your router and see what is going on there.

NEtgear RP614 cannot connect after a electricity shortage in our home :(

How is it not working? You get limited or no connectivity or it isn't functioning at all. Firstly, let's do a power cycle. Push the reset button for 5 seconds, unplug for 45 seconds, and reset 5 seconds, and unplug for 45 seconds. If that doesn't work try a hard reset. Alright, it's time to do a hard reset, this will rest all your passwords, Take a Pen or a pin, push the pin the the reset hole for 45 seconds, Uplug the modem for 1 minute, reset hole for 30 seconds, unplug for 30 seconds, and it should be hard resetted also power cycle.
