My problem is with my Zen V Plus mp3 player. The screen says firmware problem. I have tried to reload firmnware with a update, but it still says firmaware problem. I hope you can give me some help in...

You can try to hook the Zen up to your computer and reformat it like a hard drive then try to reinstall the firm ware. As for sending it to a place to be repaired I would sudgest that you send it into the manufacture. There is a chance that if it is still rather new that they will fix it due to a manufacture defect.

Zen screen stays white

The white screen of death is due to a hardware failure in the LCD screen and the only way to fix it is to replace the screen itself. You can find a screen and repair services at

Transferring NetLibrary files to Zen V Plus player

Once firmware has been upgraded, you cannot go back to an older version. Sry. Send it in - you'll be fine. The only thing that anyone can ever do to cause irreversible damage to an Mp3 player (besides physcially damaging it) is to interrupt it somehow during a transfer. This is the #1 reason for mp3 player failure.

Zen player

Dropping the player usually ruins the miniature hard drive inside. The best fix is to send it into the factory for service.

yes, there are places you can send it to get fixed. Scroll down on this page to the box on the right that says Repair Service. Put in your zip code. There are several services to choose from.

Ok, this could be any number of things. It could be the hard drive, the motherboard, or the battery connection. You should attempt to do 2 things before sending it in for service: 1. Backup all your files onto your computer, and reformat the drive. You'll have to put it into recovery mode to reformat it. 2. Reload the firmware. First check and see which version you have, then write it down, and reinstall that same version (so you can keep using the same programs you are currently using, etc). If the problem still persists, you may have a hard drive or hardware issue and will need to get it serviced. P.S. I'd bet on the hard drive.

If you're still under warranty use it and send it back to the company. It's better than fixing and finding this problem or another again after the warranty expires. You wont easily find someone here who knows a good repair person for these things specifically in you area. What is your area anyway? The best thing is to ask around. Most repair shops don't like working on tiny electronics. They don't have the patience for it, it takes too long and their eyes start hurting.... When I had something similar though I went to one shop and they knew to send me to another guy who works on small electronics, but I'm probably across an ocean from you. There's a link from the product page that says "find an person near you" I'm not sure it's completely functional, but you can try it and let us know. Good luck ;]
