Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My system doesn't detect the PNY Geforce 9400 GT (512MB) display adapter that I installed, although it is currently running the monitor. It is a PCI-E device. It doesn't show up in Hardware Manager. Also, my onboard sound is not working. I need resolution of these two hardware issues.

I'll start with the Sound Issue, make sure the resources your sound device is using arent conflicting with any other hardware or application the system, if they are, you'll be able to see a yellow exclamation mark next to the icon. If there isnt any sign ntu still the device is not working, uninstall the devices drivers and download and install updated versions of you audio codecs.
As for your display, if you had an old one and you simply unplugged it and placed your new one in the same slot, that could be causing the detection issue, computers really arent that smart. so you'll have to make sure any previous versions of display drivers that could be preventing the new adapter to be seen must be carefully removed.

Can't install drivers for GeForce GT 430. "Graphics Adapter Not Found."

I am assuming that your PC is working alright connected to the onboard graphics port.
Make sure any supplementary power connectors to your video card are in place, and the card is firmly inserted into the PCIE slot.
If you try these two items with no results, you might try installing the card in a known working PC. It could be a problem with the card itself.

Hi there.
I suggest you make sure that you are running the latest diplay drivers for your GTS 450.
You can get them at the Nvidia download center here.

Just select the following from the drop-down boxes.
Product Type: GeForce
Product Series: GeForce 400 Series
Product: GeForce GTS 450
Operating System: Your current operating system.
Language: The language that you want the setup to be in.
Then click the search button.
Click download on the next page. Once downloaded, run the setup and it will install the driver. You will need to restart to finish the process.

Geforce 8500 won't show on computer and fan is working but no show how to fix

you may have to dis able the Onboard  graphics system and may need to check some things

sounds like yo had the same Problems that I had with my 5200 geforce The install did not go well. what was happening was the direct x was binding to the old mother board graphics system and not the new card . to make it rebind just change the refresh rate in the nvidia icon in your task bar . disable the display adapter from device manager for the motherboard graphics .put the card in the slot change the monitor cord boot up check you direct x by typing in run dxdiag and test directx to be sure it is running with your card you can also see that from the about nvidia you must have the driver for the card installed to do all this.. hope I helped install the driver first then disable download latest drivers here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us

According to the specs of the MSI 9400gt 512mb HDMI graphics cards, its system requirements are:
1. PCI Express or PCI Express 2.0 - compliant motherboard with one x16 graphics slot.
2. Power supply of 300 (and up) watt is highly recommended for system stability.

Make sure that your power supply meets the or exceeds the system requirements for this graphics card.

Is my Motherboard compatible?

Try to find out what the AGP voltage is on the motherboard.
Some graphics cards use 1.5 volts and some use 3.
If it's a 1.5 volt AGP slot and you plug a 3 volt graphics card in, it either wont work or you could permanantly damage both card and motherboard.
