Redish, purlple tint and blurry display

- it does show up that way on my PC. is this an expensive procedure that is worth fixing the camera?

If the pictures also show up that way on your PC,
then you the camera has a hardware problem in its sensor and must be sent in to be serviced.

If the problem only shows up on the camera's LCD, then that's the only issue, and can be solved by sending it in, or just accepting it as a minor issue.

- It probably means that they'll have to replace the sensor.
I estimate that it'll cost around no less than $100 for parts and services (assuming the camera's out of warranty.

Considering newer cameras with similar features would cost around $200
I would say that's it time for a new, better camera, with 3 good years of warranty.
