Loosen your needle. Turn your handle towards you. You may have to turn a little hard. Now, throw that needle away.Take your fabric away and check the area where your bobbin goes and clean it out of fabric and thread. Now load your bobbin again and load a new needle. Pull your thread up from the bottom by turning the handle towards you while holding the needle thread with the foot down. Now look and place something under the foot and slide it forward while still holding the needle thread. The bobbin thread should come up. Let me tell you this though. Adjust the bobbin thread before you start. This is done by placing the thread in the carrier (usually unwinding counterclockwise) and place the thread under the tension spring. Hang this from your finger and bob it up and down lightly. It should fall about one inch. If it doesn't then loosen. If it falls too far then tighten.

Why does zigzag stitch come out as straight stitch on my empisal 270D

The previous answer is not correct. The Stitch Width setting will increase the zig-zag width. However, when running the stitch, watch to see if the needle is actually moving from side to side. If not, then you probably need to take the machine for service.

I have an empisal dress maker 270D where can I find the oiling points and how do I change the belt

If it is a mechanical machine, you can apply 1-2 drops of good quality sewing machine oil or liquid Tri-Flow Synthetic Lube to any place where metal rubs against metal. AVOID belts, plastic gears, etc. Be sure to also move stitch selector lever and dial mechanisms.

Most machines thread basically the same.
Thread spool
Thread guide
Thread guide
Tension
Take up lever

Needle.
There may be an extra or one less of the guides but for the most part I've been able to thread any machine.

I'm using Empisal Dressmaker 270D sewing machine. My problem is. When I sew the underneath cotton is loose

Usually, if the thread is bunching or looping under the fabric, the upper tension is too loose.. But if the bobbin thread is showing on the top of the fabric, the upper tension is too tight.

The tension is correct when both the upper and lower threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

Empisal dressmaker 270D - top thread wont catch bobbin thread

Thanks for the advise, but I've opened the magine and it looks like at the back of the bobben, the part that controls the bobben has missed or skipped a louver so that's why my magine does not grab the cotton. The bobben case is not rotating the way it suppose to.
