Question about Agri-Fab Agri - Fab Snow Blower - 42"

1 Answer

Troy Built Snow blower won't start.

I and one of my sons have MTD snow blowers. Each had the same problem, non-starting. Upon taking off the carburetor of each I discovered a small hose line that separated from the carburetor. When I re-attached and secured the hose line back on the problem was solved. I also have discovered that MTD purchased Troy Built a number of years ago. Another son owns a Troy Built snow blower. This snow blower won't start. The model number of the non-working machine is 31AS6BN271196177. To your knowledge does this model have a similar caruretor as did the MTD machines that I was able to get functioning? The symptons for the non-working machine are very similar to the MTDs before they were repaired. I have checked the machine. It has both spark and the spark plugs are wet with gas after several pulls of the starting cord..

You don't need the part number, you just need to measure the length, or you can phone and say;

Electric start on Troy Bilt 21" single stage snow blower doesn't work. Recoil starter does. Electric start worked last year, but today, nothing. All cords good, power, etc.

The starter could be bad. Remove starter and see if it will turn over when 120v is applied.Check the wires to starter first! Good-Day!

I just bought a Sears snow thrower, I put in oil and gas went to start it but the pull cord will not pull up. I then tried the electric starter but it just made a grinding sound. Why won t it start?

Check the crankcase and make sure it has oil. It sounds like the engine is frozen. If its brand new, take it back to Sears and have them start it for you.
