Question about Panasonic Home Theater System System
My Panasonic SA-HT700 home theater system system is locked up. The tray will not open or close. The message on the front of the unit says please wait, but nothing happens. Can you help?
Try unplugging the dvd player for a moment and plug it back in, see if it opens if not.
Turn on the unit and press repeatedly the eject button at the same time. If you succeed in ejecting the disk before the player starts reading the disk then the disk will eject. If that does not work. Try holding down the eject button.
also see if there is a small hole in front of the dvd drive / tray where you could use a pin to eject it.
if the unit still doesn't eject the disc, the small rubber ring that transfers the motion from the eject motor into the gears may be broken or out of place. or it can be a set of different faults.
if you are outside of warranty you could open up the dvd player and eject the drive by helping it on the gears, also check that the rubber part is ok and in place.
the drive may be stuck mechanically and ones you help the gears it may work normally again.
