Waste ink carterage full

How do I change the waste in carterage. It is full and it will not let me print. I have another on from a different printer. How can I change them.

Try unpluging the power to it for about 5 min or so and plugging it back in, that sometimes does the trick. Is the printer even recognizing that you changed the carterage? Sometimes you have to manualy reset that too.

HI,

Your printer has a built-in waste ink tank for the ink used during print head cleaning. As time goes by, the waste ink tank gradually fills. When the waste ink tank is nearly full, you should receive a "Waste ink warning" error when you print. Press the RESUME button on the printer to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the waste ink tank becomes completely full, have the waste ink tank replaced.

My Canon MP210 printer has full in waste baskets. How do I clean them?

Turn the printer on.
Lift the lid that covers the print-head.
Notice where the print-heads are located, as soon as you can see the print-head.
That position is the "storage" position, and the "waste ink bin" is the sponge-like material
that is below the print-head.
Wait for the print-head to slide to a different position (from where you change the ink-cartridges).
Then, unplug the printer from the AC power -- do NOT press the ON/OFF button.

Now, use some paper towels to absorb some of the "waste" ink.

The amount of "fullness" is ELECTRONICALLY measured, i.e., it is calculated, based on how many pages you have printed, how often you have printed, and so on. It's not MECHANICALLY measured, unlike the gasoline gauge in your automobile.

So, now you'll need to do a Google-search for a sequence of key-presses that will "reset" those ELECTRONIC counters for your specific model of CANON printer.

Yes you need a printhead, that's what the wrong cartridge error is on a Canon. QY6-0049-000 is the part number, about $60.00

Printer display reads 'waste ink near full' and print quality is fading fast.

Those are 2 different issues, the waste ink absorber when it shows full will not print until it is changed and the count reset by a shop. The quality fading could be a printhead issue or even just a good cleaning of the cleaning and capping unit.

My x5150 won't print black. I replaced the carterage and still no luck. I thought the new carterage may be duff so I got another. Same problem. I've tried the original black one back in, but not even any...

Take it back if it is new. If you've had it for a while and it's been sitting unused there may be dried ink in the print head. A visit to the Lexmark website might be useful for any troubleshooting. Good luck.
