How to remove cover/outside of Brother 929D overlock machine to clean

It's the manufacturer's intention that the user not remove the cover. For most purposes, cleaning can be done via the threading area. I have seen a machine that an inexperienced person tried to self-service the machine and the cover and several pieces were broken and damaged.

I do not have a Brother machine but have been able to remove the base to oil the mechanical parts on my mechanical serger. The area was never dirty but the oil definitely made a difference.

I just replaced the upper looper on my Brother 929D overlock machine however the arm directly behind the lower looper appears to be bent. I can turn the hand wheel the opposite direction but not forward...

Be sure that your needles aren't bent, be wary of bending the arm because they do have a slight curve to them and if you mess it up it could cost you. Try the new needles first and make sure that they are inserted all of the way up.

My lowerlooper thread keeps breaking. I can only

The lowerloop thread kept getting cut by the upperlooper.....I rethreaded the machine in order and then made sure that the lowerlooper thread was UNDER the part of the machine that makes the looks the loopings (silver part that comes to a point on the right side of the needles...sorry I don't know what to call it) and the upperloop was ON TOP of the same started working great. I actually have very nice tight stitches now.

Lower looper threader

check to make sure it is not wraping around the upper looper. just stitch without the material and you will see it. but then you must rethread the upper looper and the lower looper again in the right order. hope this helps
