Re: cant find remote and subwoofer is off.

I had the same problem, lost the remote during a move. I ended up using a really cheap GE (general electric) universal remote. It's a blue and silver remote that cost $5 at bestbuy. Programming code for Aiwa is 839. Then, pressing the "enter" button on the universal remote brings up the subwoofer menu, and pressing it repeatedly will scroll through the individual volume controls for the other speakers.

As far as I know, there is no way of accessing this menu without a remote. Aiwa dropped the ball on that one.

Go on line and get a replacement or a high quality universal remote

I'm looking to connect a Marantz SR5001 to a Subwoofer, and there is currently no soundcoming through the sub.

On the SR series, you should find the setting for this in the setup menu on your remote. It will be easiest if you have a TV connected for video display. On the remote hit Amp -> Menu -> Speaker Setup -> Manual Setup. This should allow you to set the 'Subwoofer' setting to Yes. The subwoofer will need to be plugged in. If the setting cant be changed, try plugging in the Audassey microphone and run the calibration program which should detect the sub if its plugged in.

New subwoofer

You will probably have to get the remote. You can search online as there are a number of vendors who sell replacement OEM remotes.

Cant get my sub to work on my denon avr2808 and dont think it ever has it doesnt even work on the test signal

There are four possibilities that the subwoofer doesn't gives any aoutput. They are:

• Subwoofer's power not turned

•The "Subwoofer" setting at

"Speaker configuration" is set to

•The subwoofer is not properly

•The subwoofer's volume is
turned off.
Go to its manual setupscreen, come to speaker setup, speaker confuguration, come towards Sub Woofer, select "Yes" and press OK.

Everything is hooked up and all the Speakers work except the Subwoofer and I dont know why

Make and model would help, also if it is a powered sub.
But, check if the front speakers a set to large or small. Should be set to small if using a sub.
In the menu you can also switch the sub yes or no check that too.

There is no sound coming out of the subwoofer

I assume it's an active subwoofer, since it hums. Did you activate sub in the receiver menu? Did you turn up the volume on the sub?

I cant seem to get the sub woofer to put out sound

Hello, are you using the subwoofer output on the receiver?
Did you turn the subwoofer on within the receivers onscreen setup?
this requires going into the menu selecting speaker setup and telling the receiver that you do have a subwoofer connected.

if you have done all this I would try to fist make sure the sub is working. easiest way is to plug a source directly into the rca inputs of the sub and see if it powers up. A CD player or even an ipod with the right connector will work.

if the sub powers on and produces sound then the issue is in the receiver and you will have to play with the setup. Its possible that the output jack is bad, I've had that happen when I pulled on an RCA cable and pulled out the socket but that's rare.

Is the subwoofer set to turn on automaticly when a signal is sensed?
does it have a switch to select high or low level inputs (speaker jacks or RCA connections on the back)

hope that helps
remember start by making sure the sub works then figure out why the receiver isn't sending a signal.

Want to connect my RCA sub to my yamaha htr-5940 reciever

Subwoofer needs to be enabled through menu on Yamaha. LINE OUT might be turned off or Subwoofer volume set to low or off... (-db level) kinda thing...speaker wires are usually always live etc...

Sony str de545 5.1

Make sure the subwoofer is set to On in the setup menu. Should be able to access this setting from the front panel, using the click wheel and the left/right buttons above the wheel. Push the setup button to get to the right menu. Set subwoofer to 'on' and speaker size to 'small'. This receiver has a fixed crossover, so make sure to turn the crossover setting on the subwoofer to the maximum setting (highest frequency) to ensure no signal is lost.
