Question about HP Deskjet F2210 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My F2210 will print but it won't allow me to use the printer icon on the bar and the Solution center says it cannot detect any HP products when I open it. Plus it won't scan. OH well. I get what I pay for....:)

I hate to make myself sound dumb but here goes. The PC I am working on has Vista - I use XP on my home PC. I cannot find the wizard in Vista. It is not on the startt menu where it should be and I can't find it anywhere. Why did they fix something that wasn't broken? Can you gve me some sort of clue to where it is? Thanks Gail

How can i check which ink are out

Your printer should have come with a disk. This disk would have installed the necessary program that runs printing jobs, as well as keeps track of the ink level. Locate this program on your computer (may be under All Programs, Accessories under the Start Menu).
If not, Go into the Control Panel: (see below)
carsandcomps_3.jpg

Above, you see "Hardware and Sound"; and below that shows "View Devices and Printers. Click on this. It will then bring you into the below dialogue box, of which shows any and all printers currently installed and which are being used. (see below)

Once you have located your printer here - (name etc). Go into your Start Menu: In the Search Box at the bottom type "programs"; look for the words "show which programs are installed on your computer", should be the fourth in the list. Below is what the list will look like. Find your printer here to ensure it's installed.

Once you have determined it's installed, you need to locate the printer program in your file system. Once you retrieve this, click it to open it. The program should allow you to view the ink levels. With most printers, when ink is low it will automatically open a dialogue box showing the ink levels for each cartridge. If you're printer is not equipped with this feature, then the only way to know if any need changed is when printing a document, and any color is not present.
I apologize for such a long response, as I wanted you to know how to access these files. If you are printing, and all colors appear to be present, without fading, or "blotchy" spots, then your cartridges are still good. You should be able to do a print test (calibration or alignment test) to determine this as well.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Color ink attention on my HP deskjet F2235(All-in-one) what may be the cause?

Hi,

That attention mark is a reminder that the ink is in low level or it is already depleted (empty).
If you do have the hp solution center installed on your computer, try to check the Estimated ink levels or please print a self-test page.

To do that,

- press the setup button, (wrench like icon)
- press the down arrow, look for PRINT REPORT and press ok to select.
- now, press the down arrow to highlight SELF-TEST REPORT and press OK for it to be printed.

Check if there are any depleted cartridges.

Cheers!

Please go to the Control Panel > Remove Programs or similar, and remove all HP printer related software.

Then download and install the Windows 7 version of the HP software here.

HP Deskjet F2210 won't install on Vista

Go to control panel/programs and features and uninstall the HP driver and all associated software.

Reboot, then reinstall the LATEST version written SPECIFICALLY for VISTA SP2. Install the driver BEFORE you connect the printer. After you install the driver if your computer still doesn't recognize the printer, leave it connected and reboot.

You should see the 'found new hardware' wizard open and automatically install the printer.

Hope this works. Good luck.
