YES check your connections and make sure you have selected the right INPUT signal source on your surround sound just remember RCA cables (yellow red white) goes from digital box,CABLE or SATELLITE OUTput to surround INput from there connect another RCA cable from the OUTPUT of the surround sound to the AV1 Input on the TV make sure AV1 is selected on the TV,if you dont know how just put the TV on channel 3 then press the channels down button and when the TV gets to channel 1 the next channel down from that should be AV1.Also make sure you have selected the right INPUT for the surround sound.

If you are not using RCA jack and just coax follow or you dont have a digital box.Connect the cable from the wall to the INput
on the surround sound the the cable OUT to the tv make sure the surround sound is Looking for a signal from the coax.

Hi, something is wrong with my receiver! My right speaker is not working when I put it into my right slot on receiver however the right speaker does work when I put it into my left slot on receiver. Can u...

There are two issues that may cause this:

1 - (most likely) someone has pushed the sound levels all the way to the left. Find out if there is a switch/knob/button (even on the remote) that will configure the balance of sound between left/right. Correct it.

2 - (probably likely) there is a loose connection somewhere. If you're good with a soldering iron, you can pop the top off of your receiver and test the connections to the right ports (where you;d plug in your speakers). If there is a broken point, repair it.

3 - (not likely) Aliens.

My Philips HTS3566D home theater stereo system speakers do not work. Sound comes from the tv, but not from the speakers that came with the Philips unit. I've tried different modes (party, dolby, etc.)...

I have the same problem. The front right and left chanels are fucked up while the center and rear right and left are working normally. I can't imagine what's the problem.

5.1 Dolby system does not work with the T.V.

Solution: connected the rear right and left wires to the Front , left and right wires......................and everything works the way I anticipated without any technical problems....... the woofer works on a separate circuit, so I continue to receive the "low" frequency..

No surround sound

It sounds like the speaker wires are mixed up or maybe a setting on the reciever is wrong. Verify your speakers are properly connected. you test speakers using a 9 volt battery or smaller.

No sound from rear/ surround speakers on Bose V20

Yes, very easy and cheap if you get it from the right place. Fiber Optic going from the output of the device to the input of the receiver. If your lucky enough to have an input/output fiberoptic in your tv, run the fiber from the device to the tv input, fiber the output of the tv to the receiver so not only are you getting the device full surround sound, but you'll also get better TV surround sound for those that are made with Dolby pro logic II sound. (pretty much all the newer movies and shows)

Sound from 3 channels only

Sometimes what happens is that people r just confused with all wirings.Considering that you have connected the speakers correctly...Now according to u the center speaker is not working
  1. If u have a jack attached at the end of the speakers then try connecting the center speaker jack into the Right front/Right Rear/Left Rear socket at the back of the reciever.Just to make sure that your speakers r fine.
  2. Secondly play an audio cd first, sumtimes a video DVD not being 5.1 channel one confuses a lot.
  3. Assuming that you have checked the center speaker, like I asked u too,Connect it into its proper socket or better connect all the speakers.
  4. Now with the remote you check the predefined equalizer in it n keep changing that [pop, rock, jazz etc] or you might even want it to change it to 5.1 from a 3channel or 2channel Stereo.Everytime you change it listen to every speaker.
  5. Also check that you have increased all the speakers volume one-by-one.
  6. Disconnect any headphones attached.
  7. Switch on the selected source or select another source.
For further details u can check the manual.
The VGA cable of the monitor will work fine.

Cant get sound from speakers

That is because you didn't have the audio input connection right.
1. HDMI cable going from the Samsung tx72 output to Your Samsung TV HDMI input 2.
2. Non HD directv box Left and right audio output should be connected directly to the Samsung DVD receiver under Satellite input.Select"Satellite"for the sound from your Samsung tx72.You are good to go!

No external sound

Try power cycling (unplug power from rear, wait 20 seconds and the power back up). As far as the left side audio problem, confirm you do not have the left analog input (white) plugged into the device digital input which is located below the right (red) input jack. The Left input jack is above the right input jack.
