Dryer has no power to control panel, inside light etc How do I restore.

is it gas or electric?did you make sure there's power at the outlet?if it's electric, look at the back of dryer where the cord connects, remove the cover and with a meter make sure you have 240 volts there.you need to send the full model number off of dryer, this could have a computer board in it but if the inside light is out it sounds like no power going to it.

Dryer shuts off after one minute

  1. Lid Switch Doesn't Latch
    • A Whirlpool Duet dryer has a latch on the interior frame of the door. It essentially locks the door closed when the dryer is operating to keep you from opening the door and becoming injured by the tumbling drum. The dryer can only run when the latch is secured. If the latch breaks, a dryer might start but shut off prematurely. Open the door and press the latch down with your finger. It should make a ticking sound when you release it. Replace it if it doesn't.

    Unsteady or Damaged Power Cord
    • A dryer's power cord delivers electricity from the electrical outlet to the machine. If the power cord isn't firmly plugged into the outlet, it can interfere with the electricity transfer. While your Whirlpool Duet dryer might start, it probably will shut off soon afterward if the cord is wobbly. Also, if cords wires are visible through the rubber encasing, the cord might be defective. Though the dryer turns on, a faulty power cord might not be able to sustain the dryer's long-term operation.

    Triggered Thermal Fuse Faulty Control Panel
    • The Whirlpool Duet dryer's control panel operates with the support of multiple wires that link to various dryer components. After you choose a drying setting and turn on your dryer, the control panel begins running elements of the dryer. If one of the wires fails, it can disrupt the performance of your dryer. Contact a dryer repair specialist if you suspect that the control panel might have short circuited. If your dryer is still under warranty, rather than replace the corrupt wire, he might recommend replacing the entire panel.

You may have a faulty ground but that should have been caught by a good volt meter.
Depending on your supply issues, the board could have been damaged and replaced.

Check the door interlock switch. If it is defective, the machine will not start. If no help, then there may be trouble in the control panel.

No power to selector panel

Sounds like the control panel may be dead. If you cannot get any lights to come on at all on the front panel, its probably a goner. You can check the voltage coming out of the control pc board via the schematic inside the dryer panel. I have this same exact problem. I replaced the control board 3 times because the panel seems fine if i plug it into an external power supply but will not work when plugged into my dryer. I have my jumpered and running off of a circuit breaker.

Frigidaire LEQ1442ES won't start

Hi there,

A defective dryer thermostat could be what is preventing your dryer from starting. Open up your dryer's cabinet. Test each of your dryer's thermostats. Replace any that have become defective.

Also check the electrical output from your house;
Your dryer may not be receiving adequate voltage to start. Make sure your dryer is plugged in. Also, check the circuit breaker panel to make sure all the circuit breakers are in the correct positions. Or check to make sure no fuses in the fuse panel are blown. Try plugging something else into the same outlet. If it won't work either, then there is likely something wrong with the power outlet. Any of these could be the reason power is not getting to your dryer. Also, refrain from using an extension cord to plug your dryer in.

Hope this initial info helps
