Have roaches in the door of our dishwasher! I

Have roaches in the door of our dishwasher! I want to know how to get rid of their nest. Bugman has sprayed and sprayed and puffed a powder in every hole in the door plus put out bait for months now and still they are active around and in my dishwasher. We have killed many but they still persist! Can I unscrew the screws on the inside of the door and get to where they are without damaging my washer? It's a GE Profile dishwasher. Is there a way to keep them out once they are gone? Plug holes? etc...

What a complete waste of time and effort! Don't advertise that you have "experts". Why would I throw it away? To buy another that will have the same problem? Is there a roach-proof dishwasher on the market?? Your response was apparently just what fixya is all about. Sorry I bothered you... go back to sleep.

Sorry to say but I have had the same problem for almost three years!
We have a Profession Exterminator come on a reg. bases and extra
when we need them. It all started in April of 2007 when the neighbor
next door took several truck loads of his junk out of a public storage
unit and placed in the back yard sheds and all through the yard and
in his home. He has polluted the whole intirer block and then some and has done nothing to treat his property. Meanwhile we have spent thousands of dollars treating and repairing house to no
evail! I feel we will never get rid of them period. As for you my dear
feel very sorry for you but think you will never get rid of them either.
Here is wishing you luck on whatever you decide to do next and if
something comes my way....that works permanently.I will be sure to pass it on to you though a message.

you can take the front panel off with removing the screws on the inside of the panel. but your not gonna get rid of them. you remove the nest and trust me they will return! roaches will nest anywhere there is heat. dishwasher, microwave, in your refrigerator!! good luck

No. No electronic device will repel insects. I have yet to see one work, otherwise I would not have a job. I've been in pest control for 16 years.

Spider nest behind the dash clear plastic face. My wife is freaking out and is worried they will hatch and come out from underneath. Help

If there is a spider nest in the car you can simply use insecticide spray to spray the spider nest that will get rid of them, you can also spray the nest with air freshener that also will get rid of the spiders.

There is soap left at the end of a cycle from the dispenser. It is trailing down the door and standing in a puddle at the bottom of the dishwasher. The soap that is not in the trap door seems to wash...

Try different detergent types--liquid instead of powder, capsules instead of liquid. Don't put large dishes near the door that might block spray. Check the spray holes in the spray arms for blocking.

Roaches in circuit board of whirlpool dishwasher

They are there for the food supply of course.

Take the front panel off and spray the interior where no electrical connections are with a contact killer roach spray. Do the same with the inside of the dishwasher and then leave for a couple of days with the door closed.

Before using the dishwasher again run it empty with detergent and about 3 cups of vinegar. Do this two or three times to make sure you get all the insecticide out.

You may have to do this more than once as they lay eggs which are not affected by the contact spray.

Read the label on spray or powder to see what company says about toxicity. Boric acid is probably one of the safer things you can use and is effective against roaches (at your pharmacy in powder form). And don't skimp on cleaning the dishwasher after as the idea is to kill the roaches not yourself.

Either that or replace the whole unit.

FDB956RBC0 - Dish Washer

seameat, you have a power issue. It is possible that when you pulled the unit that you frayed or shorted the power lead. Reset your breaker first. Tjhen, pull the unit and inspect. Oh, and shut off that breaker first. If the breaker is on when you start (it could be that it tripped), it must be shut off in order to reset it.
