SOURCE: Two red lights are illuminated on the unit and it won't play
I have found an answer. Read the manual. If the temperature inside the projector increases, due to blockage of the air vents, or the setting location,
“ ” will illuminate in the lower left corner of the picture. If the temperature keeps on rising, the lamp will
turn off and the temperature warning indicator will blink, the cooling fan will run for a further 90 seconds, and
then the projector will enter the standby mode. After “ ” appears, ensure to perform the measures
described on page 55.
eg. you vacuum each side of the vents and unplug the unit from the power wait 5 minutes plug it back in and everything rests to normal. Failing this you have a possible issue with the cooling fans and you will then need to send off to the service centre.
If the fans do not work after turning the unit back on then this may be your issue.
here is the URL the the service manual if you have lost yours.

you can get the part from a sharp service center and replace it yourself or send the projector to one for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

Two red lights indicate a problem with the lamp circuitry, i.e. the ballast. This requires a service center to change out a circuit board. Given the cost, it might be time to look for a new projector.
