Check the door is sealing all around the rim. The seal may need replacing, or the door may need adjusting.

yes. if the door seal is not making good seal then when the unit is running it will **** air in from where the seal is failing and create frost build up. need to inspect seal and make sure its making good contact.

SOURCE: Air escaping from my fridge-freezer.

The sound you are hearing is just the circulation of refrigerant through the system. More specifically it is caused by the changes of pressures happening when refrigerant passes through the capillary tube and into the evaporator, changing from a liquid to a gas. This is not dangerous at all.

SOURCE: Iced up copper pipe... both

Call back who ever fixed the leak, you still have one.
After fixing the leak make sure the drier is changed, system evacuated to at least 500 microns, then do a standing test. Meaning let the unit stand with the micron gauge connected. The unit should hold a vacuum. A slow rise indicates moisture, whereas a rapid rise indicates a leak.

I have a Hoshizaki Machain and it is leaking water above the door on the left side running down to the left leg when standing in front of the machin, what cause this to leak?

IF you are talking about a freezer, make sure the unit is level as the condensate pan may be overflowing. Also, if the door does not seal properly, it can cause "Sweating" as cold air is escaping and causing condensation at the door. Start with that first.

Why is the top of freezer frosting up

The door gasket is leaking around the top of the door. Air getting in past the gasket condenses in the freezer causing the ice build-up.

My frost free freezer is building frost on the top part of the freezer between the door and the small divider, the seals appears ok with no gaps and it never shuts off 2006 model

there are two vent holes in the bottom of the door that need to be seal closed there has been air leaking in from these holes also the rear air diffuser should be solid and the vent holes in it coverd as well.then you nee to take one or two small washers and remove the front panel inside the freezer and put the washer between the panel so there is a small gap between the top of the freezer and the divider

How much open space should I provide around my True freezer?

This unit pulls air in through the lower louvers in the front and pushes the air out through the back . It produces a lot of heat when running. 3 or 4 inches at the back should be sufficient if the air can escape over the top of the freezer.

I would check all seals and make sure there are no air leaks. From what you describe there may be several areas that allow warm air to enter and cold air to escape. If the humidity goes up in your location and the door is open a lot it can cause havoc with consistency.

Ice if forming along top gasket area and side of freezer where

If we have ice on the inside of the freezer it means air is being pulled into the box somewhere. The most likely place is the door seal, it sounds like you already checked it, but I would suggest that you look very close at the bottom and aides of the seal too, it could be leaking in air from there. Check the inside liner for cracks and seal them if you find any. Look at the corners of the cabinet to make sure there is not room for air to come in.

Air leaks will lead to frost, it is just hard sometimes to find where it is leaking in.

I am experiencing frost build up on the top part of the door as well as the top part of the inside of the freezer. all other areas are fine

You have an air leak. Usually right where you frost build up is, however since hot air rises, sometimes this leak can be anywhere. Make sure your door closes tightly and your gaskets are clean and making good contact. You may have to adjust the gasket, adjust the door, or replace the door gasket. If there is ice on the floor of the freezer, you have a plugged drain line. In very rare instances we have found, where the freon lines enter the freezer, in the back or under the freezer, missing or fallen refrigeration putty that seals around the lines. Door doesn't close properly, leaks water

If the door seals are still pliable and intact there are two possible causes.

1/ The upper door hinge on the top of freezer unit has two adjusting screws under a plastic cover/cap which allows the upper hinge to be set forward or back altering/adjusting the spacing of the door seal to the freezer body. Moving the hinge outward at the top will cause the door to seal tighter at the bottom and lessen escaping cold air and condensation to form (water droplets). Adjust carefully so as not to create a weak seal (air gap) along other sealing edges of the door frame.

2/ Many United Refrigeration Commercial Freezers are manual defrosting. Moisture from inside the freezer can condense between the inner molded door panel (door shelves) and the exterior metal door. Usually ice buildup will occur in this space, but when defrosting or during high ambient temps the ice will melt and drip out along the bottom door edge/seal. Screws alomg the door frame (hidden by the door seal) hold the seal in place and also the inner molded door panel. The inner panel can be removed to replace the seal or to remove the ice buildup.

GE Upright Freezer problem/door

The door seal is damaged or the hindge alignment have allowed the warm air to enter and the cold air to leak out the of the freezer. Look and feel around the door for the cold air and check the top and bottom hinges to make sure they haven't become loose. Look for tears also around the seal because this will do the same thing. Let me know what you find. JT
