Question about GE Profile 26.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Dispenser TFX27PRBWW
I had the same problem last time I changed it so I bought a complete filter assy. and replaced the entire assy. which worked by doing that. Now it's doing it again. It seems that the cartidge cannot be replaced by itself. I have not been able to replace a cartridge by itself yet. This eliminates the luxury of just changing the cartridge only. I turn the water off, unscrew the filter cartridge, screw in the new cartridge, turn water on & the water pressure causes the cartidge to unscrew & pop off. The cartridge looks like it has two ramped locks on it to keep it from unscrewing but they apparently aren't working properly. Any suggestions?
You are doing something wrong. It is usually a 30 second repair.Make sure you apply upward pressure as you turn the filter .Should go at least 180' .Water valve not under much pressure ,cant be water causing problem .Hope this helps
