Making any FM Radio an XM Radio

Your SKYFi3 contains a built-in FM transmitter that sends the XM audio
signal to an FM radio. The FM transmitter is only used in the car dock, and is disabled when you are using headphones. - so do not use headphones while you want to use it in the car.

    1. Find an FM frequency that is not being used by any commercial FM station. Tune your FM radio through the FM band and note which frequency has no FM station or the least amount of interference.

    2. Place SKYFi3 in the car cradle.

    3. Press Menu, scroll to “Settings” and press Play/Pause to select it.

    4. Scroll to “FM Frequency” and press Play/Pause to select it. (both the car radio and the player must be on the same frequency for it to work)

    5. Using the up and down arrow buttons, select the same FM frequency and press Play/Pause.
You should now hear XM programming on your FM radio. If the sound
isn’t clear or you hear noise or static, try another FM frequency. If you’re
traveling, you may need to retune periodically; this is due to the differences
in signal strength of local FM stations and is not a problem with
    your SKYFi3.

you need to have it on the car dock. And you need to adjust both devices into the same frequency,

here is the user manual for you

You will need a pdf reader to open the file, if you don't have one or you can't open the document get one from here:

First make sure that you have followed the previous instructions exactly.

Then try adjusting the volume on the transmitter:
    FM Audio Level/Line Out Level

Use these settings to change the audio output level that SKYFi3 is transmitting to your FM radio, or sending to your stereo when connected to the Line Out jack.

    1. Press the Menu button, scroll to “Settings” and press the Play/Pause button to select it.
    2. Scroll to “Setup” and press the Play/Pause button to select it.

    3. Scroll to “FM Audio Level” (car cradle only) or “Line Out Level” (if connected and in the car or home cradle) and press the Play/Pause button to select it.

    4. Use the left and right arrow buttons to decrease and increase the audio output level and press the Play/Pause button to select it.

If you have done the steps properly then you should hear the music playing on the car stereo. Aslong as both are adjusted on the same FM - Mhz frequency for example 93mhz both have to be tuned to the same frequency. and the player needs to be in the cardock.

You need to Tune your FM radio to the frequency of the player, if you are listening to another fm radio station it wont work.

Don't know if it will help. But I had a problem where .mp3s where very static when playing through the car stereo. I have a FM modulator, but still static. Radio was clear and recorded songs clear. I was using 107.7, switched to 87.7 and the .mp3s stored on the SD card cleared up.

Cd player flashes ''error'' when you put a cd in. It waa playing fine. Just stopped playing ejected cd.

try another cd wont play if too scratched or dirty. handle disc by edge, dont touch the surface of disc no matter how lightly you hold it, you will leave contaminants that cloud the surface. if none ever work try them in a house cd player still no joy, then discs aare no good, if they work in home player then car cd died, time for new one. heck who uses cd any more? its a hassle to change them (only 16 songs!), hassle to replace lost daamaged or stolen(borrowed by friends), skip or scratches, get a radio with usb reader/player or SD card reader, can be had for under $60 , an 8gb SD card for $25 (4,000 songs<do you even KNOW the names of that many songs?) PLus, without a cd slot the thieves should leave your radio alone, thinking its just a normal am/fm radio. goto for great deals and FREE SHIPPING.

I dont know how to put music in the sd card

To add music to your DSi, first you need a spare sd card, and a pc or laptop that can sync with the card. Remember that the DSi only plays AAC type songs, so convert the songs you want to copy-paste on the card. This can be done easily on Itunes on which I use by right-clicking on the song and it will show you there ' convernt to AAC'. After saving the songs , take out the card from the pc or laptop and you can now insert the card in your DSi and play music and enjoy.
