Samsung TV model HLR5067WX/XAA and recently the picture quality is bad. The colors on the screen are showing up weird with a lot of purple shading flickering in the background. Reminds me of a heat sensor picture. Sometimes it's just the top and then it's the whole screen. When I move my tv it clears up but then goes back to a bad picture quality.
The color wheel is your suspect.......usually whines a bit
when bad. In a quiet room, you can hear it when the TV is powered on or off. It spins at 9,000 rpm ( wears out the bearing).
The lamp will not exhibit those symptoms....

You can purchase color wheel of Samsung HLT5075SX from Part Store and I would recommend to have qualified TV tech for installation. it is not advised to novice to get involve in such kind of repair that can damage TV.
Still you want to repair it by yourself then download service manual copy of same TV from HERE for small fee that has proper info.

I suspect the lamp is failing on your TV. The lamp replacement code is listed on the side of the TV on a sticker that is orange and white. It will start with BP96-. The lamp code is crucial on these older Samsung DLP's because they used quite a few different styles. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you...
