Diagnostic Tap 41 Test (verifies electrical health of ink
To access the diagnostics menu on the HP Officejet J5700 or J6400 series
printers, select * and # keys simultaneously and enter 124 (or 123). From there
you can access the Reports Menu, 'print-mech tap test and run the diagnostic code=41
test (see video above for reference) - this will tell you the exact health of your ink
cartridges. To run it I think you'll need to access via '124' access code for the HP OJ J64xx printer series.
