I have a new computer with Windows 7. I installed the HP 3500 driver and now the printer won't print. I hooked up the printer to my old computer that ran the 3500 and now the 3500 won't print from that...

If it no longer prints to the old computer, begin by powered down the printer and unplugging the power for at least 1 minute.
Hook it back up to the old computer powered down.
Once powered back on, goto control panel, printers and make sure that printer is set to default.
Try and print again. If it works moving on to the other computer make sure you are using the correct windows 7 driver (32 bit or 64 bit) if you are using the correct one I would try and install the vista driver instead as windows 7 and vista are quite similar
Lets start with that If you still need further assistance please leave a comment Thanks :)

My computer can not find the printer - Windows Vista

If your printer is wireless you will still need to hook it up to the computer using a USB wire. You also need the printer install disk, called a driver that came with the printer. If you don't have the disk, don't worry. You can download it for free. Just google the name of the printer followed by the word driver. Then follow the prompts to down load it and load it into your computer..

Can't print in color on my Canon printer

If you go here you can download or view a manual for your printer, with detailed instructions on changing the print cartridge settings in windows or mac.
If you go here, you'll be taken to the home support page for your printer, where you can enter a search for "print in color", and detailed instructions will follow.
You go to control panel>printers>print preferences> and uncheck the grayscale printing and set the color to auto.
Issue: Image prints black and white instead of color....See below.
Solution: Uncheck Grayscale Printing checkbox (Windows)

Unchecking Grayscale Printing Follow the steps below to change the Grayscale Printing option:
  1. On the Windows desktop, click 'Start', point to 'Settings', then click 'Printers' (Windows XP: On the Start menu, click 'Printers and Faxes').

For Windows Vista: Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then click on 'Printers'. Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, Click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.
  2. Windows 2000/XP/Vista: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Printing Preferences'. Windows 98/Me: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Properties'.

  3. On the Main tab, click on the 'Grayscale Printing' check-box to remove the check-mark.

  4. Click the 'OK' button to save the setting.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Printer problem

I think I had a chat with you , here is trancription:

You are now in session with bazza1963
ginko says:

ginko says:
are you there?

ginko says:
seems you need to re-install driver softwar for your printer, do you have printer disks? and which version of operative system are you using (Windows XP, Vista, etc)

ginko says:
I will try to find drivers for windows, give me some minute

ginko says:
Here is Driver download page for your printer, start downloading the one for for your system:

ginko says:

ginko says:
Here is installation guide, same as the one provided with printer:

ginko says:

ginko says:
download the above driver software.

ginko says:
is the same as the one distributed in disk coming with printer , if you have the disk you can use the disk

ginko says:
Once you downloaded software do the following:

ginko says:
1 disconnect printer from PC

ginko says:
2 expand and install downloaded software, alternatevely use the disk provided with the printer. Do this with printer disconnected.

ginko says:
3 when asked from installation, or after installation, connect the printer to your computer using the USB cable , not the network (ethernet) cable

ginko says:
4 the printer will be recognised in Windows, if it does not restart the PC

ginko says:
You must use an usb cable to use this printer as a local printer.

ginko says:
You may need a router to use the ethernet cable (one similar to thick phone cable) provided with the printer

ginko says:
therefore ensure you are using the right cable

ginko says:
here is an example of usb cable, sometimes it is not provided with the printer, have a look,. This is the right cable you need to use to connect this printer to local computer, the other one is for network

ginko says:
check on how it looks like and ensure you are using the right one

ginko says:
let me know if you need further help, I am not receiving much feedback from you

ginko says:
Best regards

ginko says:
Also check under printers in vista that you have this printer installed and that it is the default print

I could not get any feedback from you , do not know if there was something wrong with chat software

Photosmart 3310 is on network but not recognized wirelessly

Sounds like another Vista Bug, i would check the HP site for this issue and if its under warranty, contact HP. If you have alot of Blue tooth devices hooked up, it may be that its trying to use another device in its place or the signals are getting crossed, im not positive.

Its like when you have to many network drives all hooked up and you plug in a USB device, Windows pops up those anoying bubles saying its detected, but in My computer it doesnt show.

So bassically you have to right click my computer, manage, disk management listed uder storage, right click on the device or drive and change the drive letter to something like " W" or " Z" or anything not in use.

It may be a siomilar case with your bluetooth, youo may have to much stuff connected. Try redoing everything like you have so many other times before, and then limiting how many bluetooth devices you have connected at the same time. see if theres a difference.

Hope this helps.

How long ago did you purchase the printer? Does it have the "Certified for Windows Vista" logo on the box? If not, it won't work with Vista at all. I checked Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List and it says the HP Photosmart C3100 series is *certified* with Vista, however it does not say it *works* with Vista. Per the link, the driver may be part of the Windows Update. Give that a try, as well as HP's website. Otherwise you may need to take it back and exchange it for a Vista-certified printer. Let me know how it works out!
